ClutchFans Game Thread: Celtics @ Rockets 11/4/2008

Can't get too high or low for this one. It's still very early for us. So no flaming or parades after tonight mmmmkay?

 

It is too early into the season. i don't take it as real test for us at this point. A win will definitely boost our confidence. I expect a very physical and ugly game, should be very close.

 

i think its unlikely for either team to get to 90 this game. top two defensive teams from last season. i hope and have faith the rockets will win, but its still very early in the season and they have yet to get firing on all cylinders. im going to say rockets 89, celtics 83.

 

I don't know if someone mentioned this already or not. I feel that when the Rockets beat them tonight, to the media, it wont be as big of a statement as it would be if Boston was 3-0. The fact that they just lost to Indiana, it would probably seem like it's something wrong with the Celtics versus Rockets being superior to them. =)

But who cares, go Rockets 4-0

 

Lets see, the Rockets barely lost in Boston last year with a healthy Yao Ming. The Celtics destroyed the Rockets in Houston last year and the Rockets did not have Yao Ming.

This time around, the Rockets will have Yao and Artest. That's a nice upgrade in talent.

 

looking forward to tonights game. Wish we had shane, but its still early in the season.

on a side note, anyone know if there is any plans to make an artest throwback rockets jersey? I def want that.

 

Since we have so much talent on paper, hopefully i won't need to see yao playing 40+ minutes in this game, i would like see Joey some minute, let the hulk unleash. The walker guy will taste some muscle.

Its my 21st birthday. So my birthday wish is for the Rockets to beat the s%&t out of the Celtics & get revenge for them ending our incredible run last year. [Here's a toast to our victory tonight]

 

Guys once again, how many hours and minutes till the tipoff? I mean you have changed your time and I am not sure what time does the game start here

keys to winning the game:

1) pound the ball to yao early and often. perkins is going to guard him and let's be real, yao towers over the dude.

2) tmac continues to attack and goes to the line. i really appreciate what he has done b/c despite the injuries, he has gone to the line to get his points (but his J is just god awful right now)

3) defense - chuck hayes will play a lot more in this game to guard KG. our D has to step up. it's only been great in spurts.

ultimately, win or lose, this game doesn't mean anything this early in the season. i'll know more about this team by february when hopefully everyone is healthy, and we run the offense more smoothly.

 

does anyone know if our 2nd best cheerleader ( steve francis ) will be there sitting down on the bench with the team??? Also Whats the hold up with signing Mutumbo ( #1 Cheerleader )

 

If Yao scores 30 pts, we have 80% chance of winning. If he scores 35, we win.

 

I have one even better. If Rafer doesnt shoot no more than 5 shots we will win

 

The key tonight is to play balanced ball. we gota beat them with our superior depth. our bench has more offens. we gotta get brooks, barry and landry involved.
