I really do not understand why everybody is so against this deal. Basically it's $14 million a year with a team option for somebody who can put up 20-10-3, if not more. That is a BARGAIN FOR SURE. He is a center and any center that can put up even 15-8-2 will get at least $10 million. It isn't how much he is worth compared to guards, it's how much he is worth compared to CENTERS. Also, he is what....21 years old? How come just about every big name center in free agency is "overpaid"? Maybe it's because there aren't really that many good centers out there and supply is so low compared to demand? So yeah, $14 million a year is cheap.
Registered 4 pts, 8 rebs the first game after signing the big contract. I know it's just one game but it's not a good sign. Huge potential but questionable desire. $58M is an awfully big gamble.
Overpaid. He has shown weak side defensive potential and rebounding but lacks polished offensive moves, and his only effective scoring means is getting lobs and the occasional hook shot. He hasn't shown anything yet, and the funniest thing about it is that Laker fans think he is some how on the same tier as Howard or Yao.
wow... when did bynum get so good? last time i checked, he was still at his mama's house nursing his injury
