I think these two guys maybe more our future than
    our backcourt.

While the backcourt may get the glory
    and the headlines

These two guys will tell whether we win games
I think KT would be a much better influence on EG
    than Steve or Cat
KT keeps the pressure on 1st quarter Mo too.

    U think we've noticed KT's improvement. . .
I guarantee you Mo has not failed to notice

I think Mo will play hard next year.

I think the Future looks great with our current roster. Just give it some time to gel. We need to get a decent SF and beef up the bench.

    Wink3Cat5,

That's some of the most rational thinking I've read on this board for some time. I still have plenty faith in Rudy, CD and the players on this team.

The downfall of the Rockets has been a deadly combo of injuries and youth. The depth on this club is growing each year and next season we should be much stronger to cover for serious injuries. As far as the youth, the young guys on this team are hopefully sick of losing. Francis and Cat are just too competitive to be content with these reults year after year. They just need a fire to be lit under them. All this talk on the board of trading a player of Francis' ability because the kid's not a winner is simply the stupiest thing I've heard in some time. The guy has as much talent as ANYBODY else in the league. He has to take his play up a notch when it's needed most. If he doesn't show that initiative after next season, then you can trade him.

IMO, the biggest hole on this club is at the starting SF spot. I have no faith in Rice ever being productive again. On the other hand, I love having T Mo as a backup at this point in his career. Should be interesting to see if Rudy and CD pick up a young up and coming SF, a future C or if they trade the pick for a proven commodity(Mashburn/Lewis/Odom).

My dream is trading the Rocket's pick to the Hornets for Mashburn and Magloire. I'm sure the Hornets will want a fresh start when they get to Nawlins, a young franchise player to go with Davis. With Magloire and our excess talent at the PF spot, I wouldn't hesitate to add Mo T to the deal to sweeten up the pot for salary reasons. Hell, they can have Collier too. :D Cato/Magloire/EG would be a sweet trio at center. Mashburn/T Mo/Torres would be a great mix at the 3. Now how to get rid of Rice....

Wow! I just read the Feigen piece from yesterday Chron. Great article talking exactly on the same subject I touched on. Hopefully this kind of talk will stick in the minds of Francis and Mobes for the long haul and they'll start to play with more heart:

"It was a father-and-son thing," Francis said. "I think it was time for it. He was just reinforcing that <b>he</b>(Rudy) <b>still believes</b> in my leadership running the team."

"You can't shy away from that now, because that's the way it's going to be for years to come. <b>We have to take the initiative to be leaders</b>. That made more sense than anything." (Francis)

"It takes awhile. Our championship team (in 1993-94), the year before when we were on that losing streak, we just didn't have the foundation. People were running on us, scoring a lot of points on the break. <b>Then we finally got it</b>. We won, and what we did as a staff was we showed it wasn't just putting the ball in the basket." (Rudy T)

"Coach makes it our responsibility to continue to play strong," Mobley said. "<b>It's hard because we're all young</b>. But as long as (Steve and I) keep showing we still believe, we can all show we're believing."
