There is a ton of articles that have touched on this. There is Carville's comments...Some are saying win or lose there WILL be riots. Are you concerned?...Are you concerned about the response or aftermath if riots happen.
Normally I would say they aren't giving people enough credit, but then I started thinking about how people react when their local teams wins a championship.

At first I thought that there would be riots if McCain won. With the lead Obama has and how it's virtually impossible for McCain to win the states necessary for an electoral victory, the first reaction of many Obama supporters would be that the election was stolen. But after seeing videos from GOP supporters at McCain events, the number of people who believe that Obama is a radical Muslim terrorist-communist is much higher than what I would have expected. 23% of Texans believe he's a Muslim and it's unfortunate that Muslim is a dirty word in most of our country. And now I can't say that the possibility of a riot from the red side isn't possible as well.

In my observations, the redneck species doesn't often riot in a normal way. I see it like this: 1. The typical redneck lives in bumf**k. so whats he gonna do...burn elmer's barn and flip over a couple of cows. 2. That being the norm, that leaves joe redneck to simmer awhile before he hops in his truck and head for his fav bar where he then drinks himself into a stupor as he commiserates with his drunken buddies. 3. At some point in the evening the "redneck riot" begins. Usually instigated with something along the lines of..."that feller in the corner has a communist haircut". 4. This escalates to the point where you have everyone in the bar beating the crap out of everyone else in the bar. 5. The redneck sheriff and his posse show up and proceed to beat the crap out anyone left standing. 5. Riot is over......
If Obama loses, some idiots in LA will riot. If McCain loses, some idiots in Alabama will be plotting an assasination. There are overly emotional idiots on both sides.
