Since I've moved to Fort Worth, one of the biggest adjustments I've had to make was to the price of haircuts. I used to go to a barber shop in Galveston and pay $10. Here in Fort Worth, I've gotten two haircuts and they have been $16 at a 'barber shop' and $25 at a hooters-knockoff called Knockouts, and this was before tip, which both seemed to expect. My hair isn't some complicated fauxhawk, shag or that skunk thing I've seen going on, it's just a plain old fade, and I feel like these prices are a little steep. How much do you guys pay on the average?
$14, and I usually tip $2. Bellaire Original Barber Shop. Best barber shop in Houston (only it's in Bellaire! )
I cut my own hair with an electric trimmer. Prior to this, I spent $10, but I keep my hair extremely short, so I was going every 2-3 weeks to get it cut. I have been cutting my own hair for about 5 months now. Usually cut it every 1-2 weeks.
The usual was 8, but recently was raised to $9. Every now and then, I get it cut with the Vietnamese ladies over on Bellaire and Dairy Ashford for 3.99. Sincerely,
Lets see. 19.99 for a Wahl trimmer One trim a week for 5 years. 52x5= 260 19.99/260 = 7 cents per cut.
15 total. 10 for the HAircut. 5 for the tip. I refuse to let just anyone cut my hair. Since Im a pilot living in Newark I use my flight benefits to come to Houston to get my haircut from the same person since I was like 5 years old.
I've been going to Hair By Tony's on Bellaire in Alief since I was in middle school even though they've moved and I have as well. I just stop on the way back when I visit my grandma in Katy. In all that time the men's haircut has only gone up $1.
I went to the one at Beechnut and Dairy Ashford. WORST HAIRCUT EVER! The guy essentially gave me a buzz cut with the longest cow lick ever. I had to finish it off with my beard trimmer and I've been growing it back out ever since. I'll never get a $5/6 haircut ever again.
