These are my favorite Greatest Hits-only bands. I know they have actual albums, but I've never heard one of them. Feel free to recommend an album if the mood should strike you, or name other bands that fit this description. For whatever reason I've never felt the need to explore these bands past their "hits". The GHits has always been enough for me. Am I wrong?

    Steve Miller Band
    The Eagles
    Foreigner
    Journey
    Tom Petty
    Bob Seger
    Heart
    Styx
    Neil Diamond
    Chicago
    CCR

Tom Petty's "Wildflowers" pretty much blows his Greatest Hits album out of the water. Its a solid album all the way through.

It's a little different, but the best "Greatest Hits" artist is George Strait. I've made the mistake a couple of times of buying old albums. They have the good songs that you know, surrounded by crap. He's made like 1000 albums, and I don't know if any of them are good "albums".

My cousin's band in 1967, when they were leasing a club at Allen's Landing. Did almost all covers and a truly inspired job on Vanilla Fudge's You Keep Me Hangin' On. I did the light show. Yes, I'm biased. I had a hell of a good time!

You're forgetting Queen's Greatest Hits. The track selection on that one was $$

I'm not forgetting them; most of their albums are classics, so they don't make the list.
