What is the point? Send him to a few specialist
let he really get a good looking over.

Why send out there to potentially get hurt?
If he has a mild headache. . sit his ass down

Yes, why not. Let's see if Tierre Brown is a real keeper.

Yeah, showcasing him for a trade sure isn't working.

I would think so he can become a better player. You don't get better by not playing, and he needs to get much better if this team is ever going to become great. The single-most important key to the Rockets becoming serious contenders is Francis becoming unstoppable -- not draft picks, not trades, not giving scrubs more time this year to see "what they've got" -- it's Francis becoming unstoppable. His game is not going to get any better by taking it easy the rest of the year, or having his minutes cut. That's another reason why tanking is stupid.

Freak,

Or maybe you take a harder line with him, and when he makes a mistake you pull him out of the game, and let someone else play.

He needs some sort of discipline out there, because what he is doing now, ain't basketball.

DaDakota, I'm having trouble following all your comments. I don't know where to respond. We need a "Merge DaDakota Posts" Admin function for days like this.

btw DaD: if you are going to trade Francis, then call the whole guard-oriented experiment a failure....don't trade him for another guard. I've been trying to explain this to verse as well. Don't get so enamored over Miller being better than Stevie so we should swap them. Hell, the Kidd/Marbury swap was the best PG/PG swap you could make, and what did that do for NJ. Kidd is better than Miller and Marbury is better than Francis. What did that produce. Wow, NJ would be the 5th best team in the West rather than Phoenix last year being the 6th. Trading Francis for Miller is a mistake, imo. Get bigger. If you want to trade Francis, cash in fully on his celebrity status and change your whole team...get bigger!

If you decide to trade Francis, then trade him for Ming and Crawford. Chicago doesn't need Ming and they like celebrities.

Like giving candy to a baby.

It is a once-in-a-decade opportunity. You have to seriously consider trading Francis for Ming, in my very strong opinion. This is what being a shrewd GM is all about. Leave your sensitivities at home with the wife.

On a lesser note, I was wondering why in the world, Steve came back into the game with like 8 mins left last night. We were down by like 25 points. All that is asking for is injury.

Kidrock8,

Don't mean to argue. I know I have with you before. I'm really enjoying your posts lately.

But, that was a disgunting display of leadership. He got PULLED by Rudy, and Rudy sat his ass down, then made ask to get back in. And if you don't believe my theory, then tell me what Rudy's quotes in the Chronicle mean to you.

I would do this. That would be a great move in my opinion. In fact, I never thought about it before, but now I really want it to happen.

If we are gonna trade Steve, I would prefer it to be for a big man and draft picks.

Why hold out for draft picks, too, if the big man is THE best draft pick since Duncan, and you also get a #8 freshman underclassman from 2000 draft? You sound like you are more interested in the fun of the lottery, than weighing in the potential of Michigan's star freshman from a previous draft...read this: Jamal Crawford raring to return. That's the #1 Pick this year and a previous #8, who still might be the best of a bad draft. So maybe he's not a true PG, but neither is Stevie, but who needs one when your best passer becomes your Center.

plus you still have your #6 with my trade.

btw: I make no predictions of Ming. Just saying that if he really is the real deal, that makes him the best center since Duncan...hands down!!!

crispee-

Nah, we're going to trade #6 plus KT and Collier for Andre Miller.

CD is the master of the 3 for 1 trade.

Ming/Cato
Griffin/Taylor
Rice/#14 pick/Morris
Mobley/Torres
Miller/Norris

That would be one of the worst teams in the league. It will take years for Griffin and Ming to develop. Besides, Miller isn't exactly moving mountains in Cleveland.

Not to say I agree with the trade, but "years" is an exaggeration. That team could quickly become a top tier defensive team, zone team, in a matter of one year. And we aren't even discussing how someone is supposed to stop a 7'6" shooter/passer paired with the leagues #1 dynamic duo backcourt.

If your gonna trade Francis, then trade Mobley!

Francis, Mobley for Ming, Crawford, and Rose.

I'd do it.

Isiah Thomas has said how much he loves Steve's game.

Houston trades:
SG Cuttino Mobley (21.6 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.6 apg in 42.0 minutes)
PG Steve Francis (21.2 ppg, 7.2 rpg, 6.7 apg in 40.5 minutes)

Houston receives:
PF Jermaine O'Neal (18.2 ppg, 10.6 rpg, 1.6 apg in 37.0 minutes)
SF Ron Artest (14.0 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.2 apg in 30.4 minutes)
PG Jamaal Tinsley (9.8 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 8.3 apg in 31.0 minutes)

Change in team outlook: -0.8 ppg, +8.2 rpg, and +2.8 apg.

Rockets
F - Thomas/Rice
F - Griffin/Taylor
C - O'Neal/Cato
G - Tinsley/draft pick: Wagner? Dixon?
G - Artest/Torres
