comments like that with no factual evidence to backup what you say show you know nothing about basketball or this team. the comments that really are mind-boggling is how people say tmac hurt the team when he was out there. DEFENSIVELY, he did b/c his lateral movement was bad. but offensively, you must be a hater to say so. in the first quarter when we scored 32 pts to STAY in the game b/c dallas was on fire, tmac got 5 ASSISTS. freakin' 5. he just needs to get into a rhythm and that comes with time.
Hey t_mac1 or anyone else, do you have any information about tmac's knee injury? When will it heal (if it will)? Is it ok for tmac to play on it or is it better to sit him out before he makes the injury worse? I am not very sure about the status of his injury.
we were leading by 14 in the second half and when he entered we lsot it. Same thing in second half. Try changing your name to more neutral name so you won't get blinded by it.
b/c defensively, tmac SUCKED. tmac KILLED us in that game with his defense. we scored 32 pts in the first quarter with tmac playing all quarter. we scored 23 pts in the 3rd quarter with tmac playing all quarter. in those 2 quarters, we put up 55 pts. hmm, those are very bad #s offensively are they? please, get your facts straight. the reason tmac hurt us was his pathetic lateral movement that whoever he guarded was either open or just went into the paint at will. offensively, he did fine. watch the games with your eyes open and know what's going on.
it's not "injured" per say. he just had surgery and the doc told him 6 months to fully heal. he's playing after only 4-5 months after surgery. so he has to play his way until the knee adjusts. that is all. his offense so far hasn't been that much of a problem. defense is where he's been ridiculously bad. josh howard was just abusing him off the pick and roll.
At the end of the day, T-Mac is the Rocket's MVP, bottom line and has been every since he came here. Like I said, if it wasnt for Yao's clumsy hands, he would average close to 10 assists a night, and the pick and roll could not be guarded.
Thanks for the clarification, t_mac1. Hopefully tmac will not have too many tough defensive matchups until his knee heals.
The "benching Tmac" idea would make some sense if Battier was healthy right now and Tmac was still injured. By the time Battier comes back, Tmac's knee will be fine and he'll be the Tmac of old. Talk about a huge case of "what have you done for me lately". You know what Tmac can do, he's been doing it for us for 3-4 seasons now and nothing has changed. You know he struggles when injured, but you also know that when relatively healthy he's capable of putting on a couple of 30 ppg streaks. You would think by now we would've gotten out of the "Tmac sucks" phase. He's a great player, and if you can't appreciate that, you should find another team. He's no Kobe or Lebron, but he's also no Deng or Crawford.
This is a common misconception. He simply doesnt have the athleticism or explosiveness to be the player he used to be in Orlando. Sure, we may see a glimmer here and then, but its the exception...not the norm. Find another team? Sorry, but the Rockets are more than Tmac. Its not too often I see someone trying to defend a star on a contending team by comparing him him to above-average players on lottery teams.
Wekko is a yao only fans? Why? Because he had been negative about Tmac? Other well known Tmac haters? Who? You are desperate and the example that you used proves it. Alight, let's just say wekko is really a yao only fan to make you happy. So you draw the conclusion that whoever says something negative about Tmac is a yao only fan because of wekko? Well, my co-worker has AIDS but I wouldn't assume every man in the world also has AIDS. May be you would? I hope you are just pretending to be this dumb here.
Wow really? You would really want Tmac to come off the bench? Our best playmaker as it stands and you want him to waste his talent on riding the pine? Maybe for the time being he should play limited minutes but he still has enough skill and athleticism to gain the upper hand on offense. So glad some people on this board have absolutely no input on coaching matters because that would be very catastrophic.
My viewpoint is that if it's legitimate to ask whether or not Artest should come off the bench then it's just as legitimate to ask whether T-Mac should come off the bench. Artest is much more effective on defense than T-Mac and he's shown that he can be a monster defensively, yet nobody is screaming bloody murder when it comes to the debate about whether he should be the sixth man. The bottom line is that it's justifiable if it helps the Rockets as a whole. At the same time I don't think it's a huge deal because 1) the Rockets are deep and 2) Adelman has shown a huge amount of flexibility in his rotation. I don't think T-Mac sat out the fourth quarter because of his injuries. I think Adelman should be taken at face value when he said that he left T-Mac on the bench because the unit that was on the floor was kicking ass. The same thing happened last year with Yao in a game at Portland. Adelman's going to play what works. Just because somebody starts doesn't mean they're going to see a lot of minutes. For a while last season Alston was only playing 20-25 minutes a game despite being a starter. The biggest concern I have with T-Mac is not whether or not he starts but that he tends to be a black hole on offense and he doesn't move without the ball.
