i saw it. it was definitely intentional and it looks like even yao thought that way because he attempted to retaliate

I just sent out an email to the NBA on TNT crew referencing the youtube video. I'll let you know if I receive a response.

Here is the contact page I used if anyone is interested.

Any thoughts on sending this to some ESPN columnists/shows(ATH, PTI, Rome)?

Nobody's talking about how Dirk threw his shoulder into Yao after the foul.

LOL, it's intentional and it's so obvious. Why you couldn't see it is beyond me.

You gotta be kidding me, man. It was pretty obvious that ******* tripped yao intentionally. Open your eyes and Watch carefully. If I was Yao, I gotta make that f***** pay off what he did  As I recallr, this is not the first time he did such nasty thing to yao. **** off f*****

I guess Dampier's hate for Yao is spreading to his teammates. I remember a few years back that Dampier said the only real centers in the game were Shaq, and HIM (Dampier).

I watched the game and saw this play when it happened and was very angry. This also is not the first time that Josh Howard has been involved in a dirty play involving Yao. In the 2006 playoffs(or was it 2005?)Howard gave Yao a push and sent him to the floor. This was one of the few times that I have ever seen Yao get upset and he got up quick to get at Howard, TMac attempted to get Yao away from Howard and had a big smile as if saying "Yao what are you doing?". I was really upset with TMac for a long time after that. he had an opportunity to take up for his big man and didn't.

It was intentional....he did a sudden knee jerk reaction which is abnormal unless you intent to do something intentionally with your leg.

If the rockets don't do something about this I'm going to be pretty upset. The league needs to review this and if they find Howard guilty then they need to go ahead and suspend him and fine him. This way they can send a message to everybody in the league not to trip a 7' 6" 300lb giant...he could have seriously gotten injured today.

That's 100% dirty play from a known dirty player, no question about it. He is way worse than that little punk, Mason. The league should definitely consider suspend and fine the guy for intentionally taking out Yao's leg. This is not the first time he actually do this sort of dirty manoeuvre on Yao as some of the poster had pointed out. I always wonder if Mark Cuban has something to do with it since he is always hating on Yao.

Clearly a dirty play that deserves a fine and suspension. Very Bowen-ish.

The problem is that Howard played it off so it is somewhat debatable. Just based on that one play, he'll probably get away with it.

The thing is that he also went at Yao's feet on a couple of other occasions just in that first clip in the OP. If the Rockets decide to compile all those little plays together, then maybe you have enough evidence to convince the league that the trip was intentional (which it was).

Howard had a bad enough summer. Imagine if he now gets fined/suspended one game into the season. If he does, he deserves it.

First off, I understand your pissed and so are many others. It was deliberate and dangerous but there is no need for talking all crazy. Yao isn't hurt and we should know in the next couple of days whether or not Rockets mgmnt deemed it worthwhile to pursue this with the league. I, for one, hope they do.

It was intentional. Early in the video, Howard tries to hold Yao back. Yao jerks his arm away from J-Ho's grasp. In the process he unintentionally smacks his elbow in J-Ho's face. J-Ho was looking for revenge even though the elbow in the face was just his comeuppance.

If you're a Yao/Rockets fan, then it definitely looked intentional; and if you're on Howard's/Mavs' side, then a legitimate defense could be made that it was incidental. I personally think it was 'instinctive', given their past history. Howard can be a nasty sucker.
