I bet everybody who was watching the game was wondering why Yao Ming tripped while running down court. I thought it was highly suspect. Watch this....dirty and dangerous play by a dirty, America-hating, pot smoking player. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/CB9MlgM3XzY&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/CB9MlgM3XzY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I'm sorry, this is not even debatable. He kicked Yao's foot as he was running full speed down court. I'm glad Yao Ming wasn't injured.
the camera barely catches it, but if u watch Howard's left leg, his leg has a motion that he stuck his foot out intentionally, I notice that he reacted after it looked like Howard ran into his elbows, now that happens all the time BUT he tried to flop to get a foul on Yao, which is garbage another thing to notice, when Yao was being held back from Artest, he let him hold him back, when Howard was being held back from Brandon Bass, he shrugged him off like he was about to start something, I'm starting to hate Howard more and more by the minute
I've watched it a few times through and it's a close call to me. Ya his foot is out there but he's also 6'7 with enormous strides. If it is the case, I wouldn't put it past Howard to this.. Playing cheap is right down his alley.
Artest did little to merit attention. Earlier, however, Howard did get the Rockets' attention. He had collided with Yao on the other end and did not like it. Within minutes, with five minutes left in the third quarter, he stuck a leg out and tripped Yao. The Rockets must have checked out the video because when a few members of the group mentioned the play, they referred to it as happening "at 5:12 in the third quarter." http://blogs.chron.com/nba/2008/10/the_miracle_cure_brooks_reatta.html
Did notice that but it's so fast and so far on the end of the camera I can't make a call on this one. But as I said, I wouldn't put it past Howard. Cheap play has been his entire career.
Josh tries to draw a foul on Yao with a flop. He fails. Then he grabs Yao Ming's jersey as they run back down court. Yao Ming raises his arms and his elbow hits Howard in the face. Then Howard kicks Yao's legs out from underneath him while he's running at full speed. Seriously, 7'6 coming down like that. I'm so pissed.
if you pause and play real quick, during the 9 second mark, if you pause it you can clearly see where howard has his leg stuck out in a motion that is not natural to running.
Solid article. Great read. I see your point and don't argue it in the least. Outside of Howard, I'm excited about Brooks this season. I'd love him to step up his game and see Alston see a little more pine this year.
He definitly tried to trip him beause yao accidently elbowed him during just a few moments earlier down the other court. He wanted to get payback.
Just took a look.. It's quick and on the end of the screen but it does look bad for Howard's case. Just like a Cuban team.
Somebody send this to the league! Too bad when Yao retaliated when he got up, he didn't make Josh Howard tweak his ankle.
Howard's a punk. You don't trip somebody who doesn't even have the ball. That's a total weasel move. The Rockets should forward tape to the league office. I doubt that the NBA will do anything about that foul retroactively but if the zebras decide to keep a closer eye on Howard maybe they can make him behave himself.
