Brooks is better with a SG who can move into open space and catch and shoot. That's why he's so good with Barry and Von Wafer and even Head.

This is absolutely correct. Brooks will not be nearly as effective if he can't take advantage of all his skills. He is PERFECT off the bench to give us scoring when portions of our Big Three are on the bench. The people who think Brooks > Alston and Brooks should be the starter need to figure this out. Oh well, Morey and the coaches know better than to put a shoot-first, defensive liability "PG" in Brooks in the starting lineup anyway, so it's moot.

One thing for sure is I better not see Head get any of Brooks' minutes. Only way he plays is if McGrady or Barry gets hurt. I think a trade of Head is imminent with the emergence of Brooks as a true bench threat.

You guys notice that when we have the starting 5 out on the floor, they all seem very uncomfortable as to who should shoot the ball especially McGrady.

But we have 3 scorers i.e. Yao, McGrady, Luis and 2 role players i.e. Brent Barry and Chuck Hayes. they seem to feel much more comfortable.

Great win! Always a thrill to beat the mavs in dallas, especially on their season opener. Yao and Ron were really carrying the team very well. Awesome to see AB out there playing and picking up right where he left off (and he's suppose to be injured and supposedly out for 1-3 weeks)

about T-mac, I'm really not too worried out him, considering he still managed 16 points, but he got that 16 pretty easily and not having to work so much. It was also great to see him cheering on the team while still on the bench in the 4th when the lineup out there was playing so well. If he did play in the 4th, he probably would've gotten at least 20pts anyway.

Also very good FT shooting by the whole team so far...I really hope they can keep this up.

Ron was awesome tonight, so was Yao. T-mac also played a good game witought having to score so much. Brooks also had a good game, though in the last couple of minutes he didnt make the smartests decisions. He rushed a little too much when I thought they should've ate the clock some more. Maybe I'm just being picky. I say keep Brooks coming off the bench so he can help the second unit score some points.

i hope they start practicing with von wafer on point. we really cant afford playing alston all the time especially when his shots arent falling down. he's not tmac who can shift his focus to rebounding and creating shots for his teammates.

i wouldve preferred giving alston's minutes to head with him playing that badly. let head bring the ball down and dump it off to tmac quick and camp out on the perimeter. at least with him you know he's gonna sink a wide open 3ptr.

When you can take over on the second night of a back-to-back during a stretch when three of your starters are sitting and one is on the injury list, that's the definition of deep.

It's only the beginning, but if the Rockets can keep playing this well on back-to-back games, look out.

Also, Artest's energy right out of the gate is just what this team needs. No more sluggish, lackadaisical starts.

This guy gets 20 plus mill a year and he says that. Get your butt in gear and get heathy Tracy, you're going to have to earn your paycheck sometime this season.

Carlisle is accusing Adelman of misleading on the injury report? Is there some kind of ethics code on reporting injuries?

Past history isnt too favorable for winning a title having even ONE 1st or 2nd year player as a primary starter. Its only been done 3 times the past 25 years. Keep trotting Rafer out there I say...then just increase Brooks's minutes

Someone please post the video of Ron Artest's 3 pointer late in the 4th to finish off the Mavericks. I want to see how excited Tmac was! It put a smile on my face :D
