didnt see the guy, but from the threads, it looked like von wafer didnt play. is he on the reserve list?

man, if rafer sucks at the start of the game, they should play von wafer along with the first unit. let him bring the ball up the court then hand it off to tmac. if tmac cant get a shot, at least he has a good shooter on the perimeter.

then, sub in barry and AB if tmac and von wafer need to go out.

adelman really needs to fix his rotation soon. who played spot minutes at center?

    re: the T-Mac hate

    * He was driving to the hole consistently, resulting in either freethrows or a dish to someone else for an easy look.

    * The shots he missed were good looks.

    * He hit 10-11 from the line (it looks like he's been practicing in the off-season and deserves props for that).

    * He is still recovering from multiple surgeries

    * He ended with 16 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 turnover

    * He was the head cheerleader never complaining, ans instead rooting his teammates on in the final quarter.

    * The one negative is his lateral movement is pretty bad and he was getting beat on defense... which is why it made sense to keep him out. However, once he's fully recovered he'll be fine.

I don't know about this mavs not being an elite team thing. Well, they may not be normally but they played like an elite team today, hitting a ton of shots, and the rockets took it in the chin and never got behind by more than 5 at the worst.

The mavs ran the fast break like crazy and had a ton of energy playing in a very loud home arena and the rockets never really got fazed. If Hayes had just played Dirk during the 3rd quarter the rockets win by 20.

Before tipoff, Mavs swingman Jerry Stackhouse addressed the crowd, saying, “It’s gonna be fun, it’s gonna be fast. Put on your seat belts. Let’s do it!” Then Dallas opened the Carlisle era with a 24-second violation.

Great win. I'm so happy we beat them floppin mofos. Yao and Artest had big games, and I like how we put the game away without Tracy in the 4th. It was nice to see Tracy hitting his FTs.

I used to get so frustrated that we can never win at American Airlines Arena.

I think we're going to sweep the Mavs this year!

T-mac loves this team but his legs aren't letting him in the game. Give him time to heal and this team will be UNBEATABLE.

Great game by the Rockets. I would really like to see Brooks start instead of Rafer. Brooks adds an extra fire power in our offense. Rafer is so eratic in his open jumpers.

I can't believe how many calls they gave Dirk...he was flopping all over the place...it would have been an extreme blow out if Dirk didn't get so many calls

This is like the 5th time you've basically typed this exact same post. Holy crap... based on your Rafer suggestions, you actually want him to dominate the ball more and take more shots? What in God's name is wrong with you!? You want him to drive more... so he can attempt more floaters? I am plenty fine with him taking under 10 shots a game. Ideally Rafer does what he does best by playing solid defense, getting our Big Three the ball early in the shot clock (especially the entry post into Yao), and taking care of the ball.

There's a reason why he starts with the Big Three. We don't want him taking shots unless he's open. You think Brooks is going to be effective if he's not dominating the ball? We saw today he's a SCORER. You want him playing when he can shine... NOT when the Big Three is supposed to shine. Are you even going to address how badly we couldn't function without Rafer in the playoffs last year? I guess not. But go ahead and feel free to keep trashing our starter so you can promote your favorite player. Awesome fan you are.

im not sure brooks will be as effective with tmac on the floor. he'll be forced to become a jump shooter with tmac needing to get the first touch.

was brooks effective with yao down low? i cant imagine him getting to the basket with yao crowding the low post.

i really need to get a video of this game so i could watch.

Don't hate no one. I am glad two of our three main top guns are good tonight.
Yao & Artest are fun to watch, but we need all of three at the end of season.

Let's get ready for lakers! I can't wait for that game.
