It's only one game. Does anyone here really expect T-Mac to lead our team in scoring 82 times!?

IMO, it really depends upon who is in the greatest shape at that day. Generally, it is pretty hard to take who is our best scoring option over other two

McGrady is still working himself back from the knee surgery. I liked the stretch where he scored something like 8 points in a row and looked pretty good. I have a feeling those stretches will come more often as he gets back into shape and adjusts to the knee.

Also, why do we need specific orders of players to our options. Why don't we just go with whoever is hottest or the best match up for each game and leave it at that?

There are going to be some games where T-Mac scores 35 and Ron and Yao score 16. There will be others when the opposite happens.

Thats the beauty. Fully expect personal stats to go down on this team, while wins go up. I might actually be surprised this year if T-Mac averages 20 a game this year, but if he was a one man show on a mediocre team, I'd fully expect him to average 25+.

Maybe its just injuries (but when will they heal?)...

i don't care about what option he is. My issue is that he completely sucked tonight. He wasn't even the 3rd best player tonight. In fact, the team played much better without him.

If he's really that hurt, i would rather have him sit out until he can make a major contribution. Right now, the only difference between him and Brent Barry is 2 inches and a bad jumper.

he got more assists than anyone not named jason kidd tonight and he played 29 mins. he got 7 dimes.

he got to the line 11 times tonight.

hopefully, your iq will increase when he led the team in assists and got to the line a ton, tmac "sucked"

Ron Artest is a bigger impact player than Tracy.

Ron Artest's impact on BOTH ENDS of the floor just out weigh Tracy's impact. Tracy is still incredibly vital to our team, as a guy that can create for himself as well as everyone else.

Once(hopefully) he gets completely healthy I think he might play better than ever with so much weight off his soldiers.......He can just concentrate on doing different things that we need in order to win games, He is versatile like that......

We need Battier for when Tracy goes out..........As I was getting tired of Barrys defense.....

i dont think anyone is arguing whether tmac can score or not. and the argument that each player is going get his night is pretty lame because ANY player will at sometime have a great night with great numbers.

u know how the rockets look to dump into yao in the low post a lot of the times? that cause yao is usually our first option to score.

the real debate a lot of us are making is that artest is probably a more efficient scorer that mcgrady and should therefore be our 2nd scoring option. that is not to say that tmac should or wont get the ball or that he shouln't shoot at all.

again, no ones bashing on tmac but try to think in terms of maximizing rockets success.

let's be real. if you take tracy and yao out right now, you seriously think artest will lead this team to a winning record?

you seriously under-estimate tracy's playmaking ability.

nobody is denying tmac should not try to score much right now, esp. with this help. but seriously, 1-2 games and now we're saying artest's impact > tmac's?

    let's not go that far.

I agree completely, Tracy is most valuable as a playmaker, he does not need to do as much as he has in the past...........

I am going that far. And we are talking about the Rockets WITH Yao and Mcgrady, in which I believe Artest is a far more efficient scorer, and that does not mean that he should get the ball more than Tracy, just more SCORING oppurtunities. Tracy is our real point guard out there, not rafer, And I am OK with that.

    My IQ? wtf?

Listen, i like Tracy but i didn't see him play well tonight. It just looked like he had to work his butt off to get 16 and 7. It didn't to you?

He will need to play much better than this if we're trying to win a championship because the Mavs are NOT contenders.

I think he played great tonight, He played within his role and he had some great set up passes to Ron and Yao. His initiating of the offense is far undervalued.......

how about who ever is playing well that day should be the #1 option.

Don't doubt T-mac. Once he gets a bit more comfortable playing bbal again the man is going to bring his stuff.

Artest is a bruiser and therefore more efficient. Tmac is a cindarella shooter which mean he's a afraid of contact. And if his shots ain't falling....he still will be shooting. He just need to learn to drive to the hoop as often as him taking jump shots, then and only then will he be more efficient.

Artest brings that swagger this team needs. Little attitude goes along way.

mcgrady is 80% to say the most. i think he played fairly well on one leg tonight.

that said, right now it's clearly yao-ron-mcgrady. when mcgrady is 100% again, we shall see how the team gels at that time. me personally would think it's #11-#1-#96 on offense. (of course on certain matchups this could change.)

McGrady injured is still the best decoy for Artest and Yao.
