I'm starting to wonder how this entire season is shaping the Rocket's psyche. The whole season has been rather depressing, but lately it feels like it is really sinking in. Francis sounds like he has an inferiority complex in his interviews, trying to sound cocky while blaming his teammates at the same time. Rudy T is just giving speach after speach, but none of his coaching is making a bit of difference. The reason I am posting this is because of Rudy's latest round of leadership one-on-ones that culminated in tonight's Sacramento pounding. The Rockets seem to be learning how to lose, not how to win. I prescribe shock treatment this summer for all our players. I think the best thing for them is to completely forget this entire season. Forget how they can't play defense, forget how they can't make decisions, how they can't pass, how they can't play like a team. Any memory is just going to come back and haunt them. The first game of next year, what is going to be going through their minds at tip-off? I'll tell you what.... "How bad are we? " Someone tell me it is going to be all right! This is so depressing.
I would prescribe a shrink for Les Alexander. He is definitely nuts for not seeing the obvious. Rudy needs to go. Period.
HTF is this Rudy's fault? Francis was the one that couldnt pass, guard, shoot worth a crap tonite. Rudy is begging the team to play defense, and the team just refuses to listen. I know if this happens next year Rudy will be the scapegoat. In reality our crowned leaders Francis and Cuttino do not know how to lead at all. I am just hoping that Griffin turns out to be our best player and our true leader.
The thing is, does Griffin really have that Tim Duncan style of leadership in him. Also, how can he lead if he does not have the ball? Our biggest problem is that our 2 people that have the ball the most only pass to themselves, and are horrid on the break. DaDakota
Basically, I don't want the Rockets to become a "losing" franchise, which seems possible right now. If their egos continue to take the pounding like they have lately, then it is quite possible this generation of the Rockets will be over before it really begins. In my opinion, when Rudy gives an all out effort to inspire his players, which is followed up by a helpless pounding - THAT IS VERY BAD. The players are going to start thinking it is hopeless. The only way to fix a problem like that is to make a change. Not necessarily for better or worse, but just for the change. I don't want that to happen, because I actually like our personnel and coaching staff and don't want to see them booted just to escape a losing mentality.
