Jason Friedman blogs on shoot-around today: http://my.nba.com/thread.jspa?threadID=5700024607 [rquoter] Not much in the way of updates (what more can be said after nearly a week off?), but thought I'd pass along this quote from Tracy McGrady on his reaction to watching the Celtics receive their rings last night: "I told the guys this morning - I was watching NBA TV and Gary Payton was ragging on [Paul Pierce for crying] - and I was like, 'Some players don't know what we really go through in this league.' Especially a player like Paul Pierce, he's been in the league for 11, 12 years or whatever, and he was on the verge of possibly [being traded] to a new team until Kevin [Garnett] and Ray Allen came. He had some hard times. "I'm that same way. If and when that happens, I'm sure I'll be the same way; the emotions are gonna pour out. You just don't know - you try to hold them back - but you can't do it. I was really happy for them, though. I really felt it when I was watching that." JCF [/rquoter]
I hope he keeps a photo of Pierce's emotional ring ceremony on the front of his locker to remind him of how sweet greatness can be...if you work hard.
don't know why gary was raggin on paul for crying. jordan was crying. gp probably thinks he's too manly to cry after winning the championship as the star of the team. oh wait...
payton is a lil b**** he is just mad because when jordan beat him and his sonics in the finals, jordan cried after the final game.
