Be patient guys! They will come around. They are still to worried about stats. Once the selfish play stops, this team will be in the playoffs. Our players are still very young.

For one thing Steve has taken it upon himself to ignore his coaches, as well as playing the role of GM. When a 25 year old player does this, then he is also accepting responsibility of a leader.

Moreoever, in the normal business world, people work until they are 60-65 years old. In basketball, they work until they are about 35, if that old. Therefore, comparing basketball age to normal work age is comparing apples and oranges.

    Wow... my login still works..
My comment on this is, that steve is still an excellent leader..and it was a tough loss for the team to take. Being upset, and frustrated with some of the calls-- it's no suprising not everything he says isn't rosy. I've faith that Steve will lead this team into the future. His scoring in the 4th quarter wasn't the cause of a loss. Going 1-7 has nothing to do with a team losing. Personal production can't solve all woes.

    just my .02

Btw.. i'm going to the game on thursday, driving home from school..I hope it's exciting and the rockets don't get blown outta the water by SAC.

I have a question for you:
Was Hakeem a leader at 25 years of age?

Steve is by far the leader of this team. So he was 1 for 7 in the fourth, maybe he thought he was due a shot after missing 3 and then 4, and then five...i dunno. Whether you like it or not he is the future of this team and is irreplaceable...YES IRREPLACABLE. His comments were right on. Maybe he didn't want to rip the refs for blowing the game (OH MY GOD, our little boy is growing up). Our bench is very thin...right now. Come next year when we get MoTay back things should be alot better. IOW, stop bashing and let the team grow together. And by the way, in my opinion, the difference in this year and last is Matt Bullard. Laugh now but how many times did The Bull bail us out? He was the consummate role player with deadly aim. Teams were aware he could shoot and couldn't cheat. Also a major contributor is the new stupid rules that could only come from a r****d like Jerry Coangelo. Thanx Jerry!

Well the rules apply to everyone so I'd say the failure is in Rudy/Steve not adapting to the rule changes....

I am really offended when Jesus's name is used in any way other than worship.

It's funny, the last time we played in utah I thought Steve was TOO mature after being booted on a BS call. He didn't even argue.

Also I think his remarks were a bit in frustration, but otherwise on the money.

    Steve Francis 01-02:

    PPG 21.5
    Reb 7.2
    Ast 6.7
    FG% .421
    FT% .781

I dont see the correlation between stats and leadership ability. You are strecthing a bit here DD.

Stats don't always have nething to do with leadership. Newayz, I agree w/ drewdog and jev and the others not bashing francis. Let this team grow together. I think things'll click for them once the injury bug goes away. This season has just been horrible for them, they're not very well in sync, but all the players (at least all the starters) have improved this season. Next season should be real exciting.

are alot of you talking to rudy and finding out that steve consitently ignores him? do you also have private chats with CD in which he reveals that he is just the puppet which steve controls? i don't get it, other than the utah game, which we won by the way, i haven't heard any complaints from rudy. steve has done nothing but give compliments to the man. why is there so much interest to pile on blame to francis. if you don't like him watch another team.

could our losing record have anything to do with steve missing 20+ games and our full lineup healthy for maybe 10. i mean this isn't about the loss of dream or steve and mobley's lack of a winning attitude.

about the original post, talk about reading ALOT into something. i can't find one thing in there that makes me think less of steve. anyway's just wanted to help drewdog and others defend the franchise.
