Dominick Davis was also an excellent value in the 3rd round. Just a shame his knees gave out too soon.
Bruce Smith was the prototype back in the day. He was a beast. Isn't Reggie White is the all time sack leader. Bruce Smith is 2nd?
Since, moving to California, I dont really get to see the Texans games. So does any have or know where I could find a nice highlight reels of what he's done so far in this current season? I love me some Uber Mario, and would like to know how he and the rest of the Texans are doing for that matter since, not only do I miss the Texans games I tend to forget about Football all-together.
I feel ya. I'm in CA too now and can't get Sunday Ticket (no Directv). I just head to a bar near my apt on Sundays and watch there. As for highlights, I would think Youtube would have something. Also great game all around against Cinn. Nice to see Dunta get the pick. Lets get one against Minn this coming Sun!
CBS Post game highlights LONG HIGHLIGHT For more Texans click on the TEAMS tab and select the TEXANS. They'll have highlights to all the games, and vids of the biggest plays.
Yeah, I dont have Directv either. I dont really have time to go to a bar and watch, I work two jobs. Dunta is back playing as well? SCHWEET.
Bump.... Well, at least Mario got another sack. That's 8 sacks in 8 games this year. He now has 18 sacks in the Texans last 15 regular season games.
also, 20 in 20. and yesterday's, again, was a big one - knocked 'em out of field goal range when minny could've gone up 24-14. he has knack, no question.
Sacks have really fallen off as of late, but he was definitely a big reason for Quinn sucking so hard yesterday. He was going hard on every single play (as usual) and if they had a stat for a DE being in a QB's head, he would have had a career game. But that wrap-up of Jamal Lewis in the backfield was SICK. Keep pushing Mario. You're on national TV next week. Time to show the world once and for all who the right pick was in 2006.
He was all over the place yesterday. The stop of Lewis in the backfield served a huge helping of despair for all Browns fans.
Mario was pretty disruptive in the first half of the Indy game as well. That's what I love about him. He can go almost a month of not getting a sack, but he is clearly still impacting the game in a very real way.
It's to the point now that you can't measure Mario's effectiveness by sack count. The fact that teams key on him play after play after play and that no other Texans D-lineman is worth a dime in Russian rubles makes it hard to quantify how much he affects a game. One of the things that helps make Dwight Freeney so effective is that Robert Mathis has been on the other side the last 5 years. Mario has no such help and get double-teamed more often. He needs a parter in crime very badly.
Yeah, I'm hoping either this or CB is the primary draft focus this year, although I don't know what kind of talent there is at those positions at the top of the draft.
I agree. I still feel we need secondary, too. Our draft should go like this: 1.Defensive End 2.Best Secondary player available 3. O-line 4-7. Best player available.
As much as I'd like to get Mario some much needed help on the line, do you realize that if we drafted a DE in the 1st round that we would have 4 1st round picks on the DL? I wonder if there's a FA DE out there that could have a more immediate impact than yet another rookie/project.
