I second that hope. He hit over .300 this spring, which is nice. He made some uncharacteristic errors in the field, but I am hoping that can be attributed to him pushing too hard competing for the starting job.
Let's hope it's not "Operation Meltdown" when the postseason begins... (Or am I getting too ahead of myself here?)
All Evertt has to do offensively to be effective (particularly in the 8 hole) is hit .240-.250, run the bases and be patient enough at the plate to draw some walks (probably a more important stat than his batting average).
