a brief history here: I started listening to Jim Rome recently (on sports radio 610) .. I used to hate his guts, "Jim Rome is burning" is the most obnoxious show ever, but I absolutely got addicted to his radio show and started listening to it on my lunch break with a friend (we would get subway every day and eat it in the car while listening to Romey :D ).. even though he goes off topic a lot, some hilarious stuff happens everyday and I absolutely love the emails/texts/his reaction to them.. I just think his radio show is extremely entertaining, and I recommend to everyone taking his advice of "even you don't like it at first, just try out for a week, I guarantee you'll be hooked" ..

So my friend and I were facebook chatting a couple of days ago and we started remembering Jim Rome moments from last year when we were listening live and cracked up, this one happened to be a favorite of mine. I thought it was brilliant, especially since I'm familiar with most of the board games/books he mentioned (all high school books by the way lol)

favorite quote: "we're settin the offense tryna run plays, like, this guy is going off tackle but they all go straight to the middle" LMAO! if you played this football game, you'd definitely understand what he's talkin about.. :D

This is an obvious one sirCharles.. and this is actually one of the reasons why I refused to watch/listen to his show at first (considering how big a douchebag he comes across as being in the the Jim Everette video)..

south carolina (good stuff start at 3:00):

"baseball, asphhalt, a hammer, sandwich.. I heard that one live and I cracked up.. :D

My favorite parts of the show. I'd actually prefer less interviews as they're, more often than not, so boring in comparison.

I almost drove off the road when I heard this one:

LOL oh man Rome looks unrecognizable without that goa-tee. It makes him look so much tougher with than without. Anyways I don't have a particular favorite segment per se but I'll say Rome has got quite the mouth piece on him. There's very few people (in this world) who are as articulate and eloquent and to the point at the same time talking $hit in a truthful direct manner than Rome. I love listening to Rome bash on fools. My most recent favorite was Rome dissing Shaq when Shaq called out the Spurs for hacking him in last years playoffs. He basically said Shaq was a shell of his former self yadee yadee yadee " Can yewwwwwwwww dig it " ?! Good stuff...

The Jim "Chris" Everett moment was great. However, the two things I remember laughing at the most were his original Halloween candy story and the tandem call by Trapper and John (both happened about 10 years ago, I think).

One of my favorite quotes was when he said,

"Hey Shawn Marion, Teen Wolf called - he wants his jump shot back"

    epic

I loved that one time ,when a clone called, but he got ran for reading his take. =)

And though i really enjoy soccer, I think it's hilarious that he believes it's an anti- democratic non sport.

    boom outta here.

ABC's Rome impression puts this to shame. When ABC first started doing it, I kept thinking it was Rome.

Which one does the spot on impression of JVG? Was it Matt Jackson or ABC?

He went off on Eddie Money when he was talking about hiring Willie Randolph last summer. Doesn't seem to be on youtube though. :(

I liked the show where he thought his Nazi sled could outrun a Vette Z06 until someone emailed him that he was dead wrong.

    that was cool

Jim Rome: So what did you think your chances [of jumping the Snake River Canyon on a rocket-powered bike] were?
    Evel Knievel: Fifty-fifty.
    Jim Rome: Fifty-fifty?
Evel Knievel: Fifty-fifty. The rocket had been designed by Bob Truax Jr., an egotistical know-it-all little b*stard who was one of the engineers at NASA who was there when they burned Gus Grissom to death on the launch pad. He built the parachute so that it absolutely would fail under the G-load. But the way I see it: If I had made it, no one would've cared. If I'd died, they would've said, "Well that's what's supposed to happen to daredevils." Here it is thirty years later and I don't see no bunch of Daredevils lining up to take a shot at it.
Jim Rome: So if you had a fifty-fifty chance, a coin-flip's chance to survive, why did you do it?
    Evel Knievel: ...
Evel Knievel: Do you know who the hell I am?
