Elk Valley RCMP said the 19-year-old from Grasmere B.C., near Fernie, was airlifted to Calgary by STARS after an apparent accident. Mounties refused to comment, but said they would be releasing more information about the incident today. Police did say the man was picked up by paramedics after a 911 call from a small house party at his home about 4:30 a.m. Based on witness interviews, he was injured after he accidentally shot himself with a crossbow. Alcohol is believed to be a contributing factor to the unusual call.
