If this can be confirmed, it might influence my vote. and rimrocker, I don't find that Nixon quote so very bad. he's questioning someone's ability to look at data and trends and make a judgment. And yes, he's using fear. But Atwater, as far as I know at least, would really delight in finding a wedge and then, viola, the Horton ad.
That Nixon quote was the earliest one I could find, though I'm pretty sure he smeared the Dem Congressman whose seat he won to first get to Washington. There are a lot more odious quotes and acts in the Presidential years, including the development of the Southern Strategy and the racially coded "War on Crime.".
Who is this person you are referring to? Are you referring to the dudes that wrote the bible? What's so clear about it? Been read already and dismissed....
Genesis is full of inconsistencies. Hard for me to believe that a supreme being would not take the time to proof read something he knew bazillions would read. I really think you need to read it.
I've read the bible and countless other books but I've never read any book that has convinced me to accept Jesus as my lord enslaviour....
With all due respect, Jesus didn't come to enslave anybody... Believe what you will, but I believe that to be a fact.
Guys, all arguments aside, I really want to tell you I do this more for my entertainment than to really try and convince everyone to think a certain way. The one exception is my belief in Jesus and his will to follow him and rely on him for my strength and resolve. I have a lot of peace and I sleep better not having to rely on a bunch of politicians determining my fate. To be honest, and this isn't a pity thing at all, but I wonder how people live without it, I would have serious problems if I didn't have him to fall back on.
When it comes down to it, it's probably more of a pride thing than a knowledge thing. Having faith in something is really hard, especially when to follow it goes against every human instinct.
