Almost everybody is better than I thought they'd be. Landry looked really impressive with his new found jump shot. Aaron Brooks looks more comfortable than last year. Strawberry can defend, hustle, and drive. He has a better jumpshot than I thought. However, the player I'm more impressed with is Barry. He looks like he will play a bigger role than we all initially thought. I'm a little disappointed by Dorsey, but I understand it's his first year and part of the hype was to force Landry to sign. I know everyone's high on Wafer, but right now he's the worse defensive guard on the team, and I just don't think he will make it on the team.
Landry impressed me with his consistent outside jump shot and Aaron Brooks is producing. I want Landry to be the starting PF over Scola.
These two former Rockets really impressed me this preseason. Tonight Steve Novak, SF 18 4-9 4-9 3-3 0 2 2 0 0 0 0 1 15 Last night Gerald Green, SG 20 10-12 4-5 5-5 1 5 6 2 3 0 3 1 29
The only player I was not familiar with was Von Wafer. I would have to say that he has made the biggest impression. He has gone from a relative nobody on my radar to a possible Rockets roster spot consideration. That is how I would rank being most impressed. I expected Artest and Barry and those we already knew as Rockets to be who they have been.
Aaron Brooks will have a one hell of a season! Mid-season starting PG could be Brooks. He is so explosive on the floor, if you don't have those fast legs then he will school you all night and every night.
I co-sign what M&M said. I'd have to go with Von Wafer....this cat really surprised me, I never thought I'd see the day some guy with "Wafer" for a last name would be money from 3pt territory (for his career he's 6 for 44).
I meant to say he's money from 3pt territory as of Pre Season. During the regular season he's just 6 for 44
Brooks. That OKC was his coming out party. Looks like he gained a lot of confidence and has been playing tremendously well. He still has more to learn, but if he can continue producing at this level, we won't have to worry about the PG play.
It has to be brooks for me. He's playing fantastic basketball, but I don't think he'll ever be a floor general. It seems he's best suited as a Leandro Barbosa type player. Either way, Rafer will play less. I'm also impressed with Barry. So far, he's been as good as advertised. I had thought of him as only a 3 pt shooter, but clearly he can do more. Hopefully his body will hold up through the season.
yeh thats what i'm saying, if we put artest on the bench, our bench would have to be one of the best, i perfer him starting though
