It is NOT even close....Hakeem was a SUPERSTAR, Steve is merely a star.

It may change one day, but Dream is HANDS down a better player in his prime.

Ask yourself one question, if you could draft one of them today, who would it be?

    Dream...no doubt !!

I really like Steve, but this is an easy choice.

    RING COUNT
    Bullard - 1
    Franchise - 0

What are you trying to prove by that statement? Now if you said Dream is the reason the Rockets have two championships I won't disagree with you. Comparing ring count by itself is worthless. Is Steve Kerr with 4 rings better than Hakeem, since he only has 2?

Some things don't have to be explained and are easily understood. I think you understood what he meant.

Anyway, I agree that Dream is the reason the Rockets have two championships. Too bad Dream didn't go out like Big Mac.

McGwire didn't exacly spend his last season without embarassing himself. His batting average this last season was really horrible, and he really didn't produce much for the Cardinals.

But I get your point and I do agree.

yeah McTweety embarrassed himself for only one injury plagued season.

Hakeem has many more seasons to come ala Robert Parish.

I was embarassed for Kareem during his last years. Dream actually looks worse at 36 then Kareem did at 40.

Hakeem is 39. He was 3rd Team All-NBA at 36.

I think it is a outright disgrace that it is Steve Francis and Hakeem as the last 2 in this contest. Steve Francis in my view does not even rank in the 10 in my Rockets best of all time team. Francis has not even made the playoffs. He is not an all time Rockets great at this moment. What is his greatest moment when he crossed over another player, BIG DEAL!!!!!!!

Yeah...The dream matchup for the final would have been Lewis Lloyd vs. Maurice Taylor in the Road to a five game suspension :)

I just looked at those brackets. It's ridiculous. In one bracket, you have to choose in the top half between World B. Free. Tom Henderson, Scottie Pippen, and Phil Ford. In the bottom half, you have to choose between Mario Elie, Chucky Brown, and Steve Francis. That's an even dumber distribution than the NBA East and the NBA West.

Good God, I just voted for Hakeem, and the poll results say it's almost tied. That is scandalous.

Was Cuttino knocked out in the first round because I didn't hear his name at all.

Hakeem is the Greatest Rocket of all time. At his peak he was unbelievable, almost like a one man team.
Steve is a fine player who should get better with time and might develop into a superstar, but he has a long way to go.

For the record, Big Mac had a poor batting average, but he drew a decent amount of walks, and when he put bat on ball, he hit it a ton.

He probably could've made an extremely productive pinch hitter this year.

The reason I think it is GOOD that both of these are in the finals is because it proves that there are kids out there who are interested in the Rockets. Let's face it. A lot of kids never watched the championship years. That was nearly 10 years ago. Some kids who are now 18 weren't old enough to remember or pay attention.

The fact that one of our current players is being represented in a poll where the medium (the internet) is decidedly skewed towards a younger audience is a good thing for the future of the franchise. No offense to Dream who is clearly the greatest PLAYER in franchise history, but it is important, IMO, that Francis is this well-liked. As the team starts to win, the kids who grew up watching him (just like many of us who grew up watching Hakeem) will turn into the kind of rabid fans we've all become.
