Absolutely pointless episode. Vince already wanted to do Smoke Jumpers, this episode brought us right back to where we were at the end of the last episode. It had it's moments, but overall the story did not move forward. They are like a fish with one flipper right now, just going around in circles.
I thought the episode was good. I have seen random episodes from diff seasons, but never saw 1 episode from the "aquaman" season. Why does that director hate Vince so much?
Am I the only one getting tired of every episode having the characters "wade in the water" only to have the plot jump several steps because of a last second phone call or decision stated aloud - and then roll credits? I didn't realize how much Entourage has used this gimmick until this season - but now that I reflect on season's passed - this has been used throughout a lot of episodes over the years... It's starting to wear on me now.
It wasn't the director, it was the fictional head of Warner Bros. in the Entourage universe. Vince wanted to push back the start of Aquaman 2 so that he could do Medellín. I forget how it goes down, I think at first they agree to accommodate him, but then the schedule changes on Medellín and they say they won't and then Vince demands more money and they fire him.
The episode before this one was very good and moved it along very well. This one took 30 minutes to tell us that Vince rejected Benji and wanted to do Smoke Jumpers. It had some entertaining moments but in terms of story development it did virtually nothing.
i watch this episode late last night and yeah it was mediocre at best if it wasnt for lloyd's part and katie morgan's boobs i'd probably fall asleep in the middle of it. all that for vince to agree to benji and then quickly say no i dont want to do it anymore? does ed norton's studio not want vince in the second role either? hopefully they get back on track next week though.
Nope, it was picked up for at least another season. I don't have the source anymore but I read the article a few weeks ago. I'm torn but I kinda hope... Spoiler Ari remains an agent.
Damn good episode tonight... The plot is finally thickening. I wish this show was an hour. Also did I here some old skool Domino- Sweet Potato Pie? I think I did
I do notice the slow moving, just general Arie being Arie and entertaining the audience for the first part of the show, and then it all comes together to reveal something at the end gimmic going on. But, I like watching Arie being Arie, so that's ok with me. The look on his face was awesome though man. When he realizes what he has to choose between, you can really tell Vince is genuinely his boy, and not just another client. We knew for a while, but being reminded of it really is what ties the show together. Having Jeremy Piven do it is even better since we typically always see him as an *******. Him showing a human side really does it for me. When he begs for his kid to get in school, when he just is honest with his wife and stuff. That's what I like about the show. Well, and how insanely weird Drama is doesn't hurt. "Bro."
Wow. Last night's episode kind of sucked. The funniest part was the Arie and Vince moment at the airport hanger. I thought they were going to bend over for each other right there. It was one of those "gay" moments where Arie was feeling like if he took the job...he wouldn't be Vince's manager any more (even though he could get him on any film by that studio pretty much)...and Vince thinking Arie wouldn't be his manager any more so he would be missing Arie or something (not sure why...as Vince had no problem firing him a season or two ago). It looked like a gay couple being torn apart by the circumstances...as if the government told them they couldn't be married cause they were same sex...and they were being deported to different countries. lol Let's hope Arie gets the job so Vince can get some work and this storyline can actually go somewhere away from "let's party" mode. This episode needed the Mark Wahlberg touch: "Hey...you'll know me. What's up...Lear Jet? You have a big nose. I like your wings. Speaking of which...did you see me in 'Invincible'? I had wings the way I flew down field and blocked that punt. Say hello to your mother for me...alright? Now, I'm going to talk to this other Lear Jet over here. What's up? You drinking some gas? How you feeling?"
They totally change their ideals on a whim. The show is a pure comedy and they are putting in to many drama elements. I don't see how you can have a half comedy half soap opera work especially when the characters act different every week.
I liked the episode, but I'm having a problem buying the quandary? It's not like they can't still be friends.
I think it's more about them starting off together, and now he's totally sort of ditching him half way through, cause although it may get him "Smoke Jumpers", it's about the long term. And even more, the plot is going to include those writers, it's a clear path to some fight especially since the studio wants to change the script.
In my opinion he'll go into that room as they showed in the preview, and have one of his best monologues ever. Either that or he just flat out either takes it or rejects it.
