B,

I think if I can get an approx headcount, I might be able to sway SRO into reserving a couple tables for us. But if there's not a lot, like less than 6, I guess just look for me. I'll get there around 7:30p.

We'll finalize details by 3p tomorrow.

Damn, I wish I could come - but work is just a nightmare lately. If things go really well, I might be able to show up for the first half.

Btw, are we doing a Clutchcity rockets game this year?

The one thing I wish I lived in Houston for, a cc.net meeting! I think it should be at Rick's Cabaret...

Like Jeff, I quit going to bars in Austin a few years back because of the cigarette smoke, but now in California, no one can smoke indoors unless they're at home.

Although I haven't been there in quite some time, some of the Rocket boosters (including me) used to meet at Barry's Pizza on Richmond at Fountainview. They had a big screen television and no smoking. Someone might call and check that out. I'm out of town right now and won't be back until later in the week. Hope that might work out for ya'll.

I think I am not going to be able to make it. My potential roommate can only meet between 8 and 9 to discuss how we are going to work things out and how much I owe her. Not only does it suck to talk about money, but it's during a Rockets game none the less. Barry's Pizza sounds like a GREAT option if it's non smoking and has a big tv.

Barry's does sound like a great idea. Pizza and beer, oh and ROCKETS. That's a winning combo right there. Thx, enbehay.

Good luck B. If she's single and hot, maybe we can have gatherings at your new dig. Thx for the heads up.

Unless there's a huge turnout by tomorrow, I guess we'll cancel this gathering.

Barry's is a lot better for me too. I'll definitely swing by after work and catch part of the game if it's there.

So Barry's is the place?

The one on Richmond and Fountainview, right?

It's not a big place, but will there be any indication of where the cc.net crowd is?? I suppose it'll probably be self-evident

Update: Just saw your post coma. I'll be looking for that sign :)

Cool, Barry's Pizza on Richhmond and Westheimer @ 7:30p.

I called them to confirm that do have a NON-SMOKING area with a big screen TV. The game tonight is on UPN, so no worries about not getting it. No reservations, just FCFS.

I'll be there at 7:30p. I drive a black F-150 SuperCrew and I'll stop home to change into my blue Rockets shirt. I have a shaved head.

Do one of you guys want to meet me at 7:30p in the parking lot?

Isn't it geographically impossible for it to be on Richmond and Westheimer?

:D

Hey guys, I might be able to make it after all. I am going to take care of the roommate stuff tomorrow night. It just seems wrong to miss part of a Rockets game to discuss things like rent and deposits and house rules. I'll have to go home and change into some Rockets gear. The game starts around 8:30, right? If so, I'll try to get there around 8 - 8:15. I'll be the guy with the bad hair looking lost trying to find the CC table.

I was able to reserve a table in front of the big screen for tonight.

So I guess, just come in and go to the table in front of the TV. When I come in, I'll say I'm expecting guests and we're from cc.net. If you get there before me, please do the same. The table is reserved for Ken.

I'll be around 7:30p.

So far we have:

I hope some more of you come. If you do, please respond for a head count. I told the lady between 5-10 ppl.

One more thing,

First pitcher of beer is on me. I assume everyone will pitch in for some pizza, right?
Barry wouldn't be too happy if we just watched the game and didn't buy any pizza.

They took me out to eat for work, am I'm extremely stuff, but I'll get a drink and a slice of pizza so Barry's won't be too pissed. Thinking of food right now just makes me sleepy..........

I would go if I didn't have to work.

However, I suggest the thick wheat crust Chicken Feta pizza.

*Damn*

Will be late -- have to go pick up my brother at Memorial High School and drive him back to his car.

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Thanks for the suggestion! It was a damn fine pizza. The game wasn't too bad either. We need to have more gatherings like this again. Thanks for putting this together Coma!

Jeff, we went to a non bar place, where were you? You missed some good pizza and a fun time. Now I'm starting to wonder if I should have voted for you on the best poster contest. I'm crushed you would lead us on to believe that if we'd meet in a non-bar location that you'd be in. All of us at Barry's were wondering when you would be showing up. :)

All kidding aside, we'd like to see you show up next time if we have it in a non-bar location again.

And a good time was had by all - I think we missed half of the game just chatting though. I'm here to announce the Houston Clutchcity Gathering Player of the Game:

Kelvin Cato!

Kelvin dominated the game with dunks and stole the ball twice from Utah's backcourt. Cato even threw a behind the back pass to Moochie to lead the second fast break.

We'll look to see more people out at the next gathering.
