I agree with you. However, the rich have seen their tax rates slashed by over 2/3 since the income tax was enacted while the middle and lower classes have not seen any net reduction in their rates.

One group has been bailing out of the progressive income tax through lobbying, buying politicians, and using their influence for decades. Going back to pre-Bush tax rates is the right thing to do after the Bush wealth redistribution of the last 8 years.

I know what it means, thadeus. It's difficult for me to take seriously anyone who would post something like this:

And I can show you the data that buffet's secretary didn't pay 30% of her income to taxes, not even close.

    Dear American Dreamers and Free-Marketeers,

Please continue the contentious debate over what Warren Buffet's secretary gets paid and ignore the rather comprehensive evidence I presented that upward mobility is dying out in the United States.

    Thank you,
    thadeus

I'm in that over 250k thing and I just see it as paying my share. I mean Ms Mcain made 4m and paid 26% tax. There are people that make 40k and pay that much. I think trickle up works better than trickle down. The clinton times proves that because not too long ago we were humming along as a country and was more respected as a nation. Right now spending 10b a month in iraq while 40m americans can't even go get a check up seems backwards to me. Times Squard ued to have the meter talking about americas surplus. During the Clinton era, the sign was taking down because we has a huge surplus. Now, they've taking it down because we're so upside down, they can't put enough zeroes up. How can that happen so quickly?

I'm not going to say it ur god given duty to help ur neighbor, friend and family, but we can't keep going back to our gated communities and think nothing can't effect us. The despair people feel carries over outside the gated communities. What happens is it gets closer and closer. People lose their homes and jobs and pretty soon the jack move and scandelous activities like identity theft and just plain home invasions start to take place inside those gated areas. If the well to do people like myself and others don't help others, then we're the ones that get car jacked and home invaded. So I think if you can contribute to help the overrall grand scheme, they should.
