Mods, merge if necessary. I didn't want this to get lost in the other U-verse thread. I called Uverse today to make a billing change and the representative informed me of a new rate plan. If you are in what AT&T considers to be a "connected community" then you can get a cheaper rate on TV and Internet service. My new plan comes to $55 a month, before taxes. That's $35 a month for U300, $10 a month for HD service and $10 a month for high speed elite internet. You can get the U400 package (their highest one with HBO and other stuff) for an extra $20 per month. I also have a regular phone line with AT&T, and I'm not sure if that allowed me to get this discounted price (I didn't ask). This is not a promo that will end in a certain amount of time. It's a new rate available for those in a "connected community". I have no idea what a connected community is (I live in 3rd Ward....maybe because colleges are nearby??)....
I'm on hold now waiting to ask about this. Edit- The lady I spoke with in customer service had no idea what that was. FAIL.
my gf saw the press release on their website, yet...after calling them, they claim it doesn't exist. gj att. if anyone gets a different response, please let a brother know. also, leave your zip code -- since that's useful info for this stuff.
You get this guy as your service tech. If I were you, I wouldn't call in complaining about anything. The best he would do is give your set a Brogan adjustment anyway. You don't wanna know the worst he'd do.
My zip is 77004. Again, I have no idea what a connected community is. I called and spoke to the billing department, and at the end of the call the rep was like "let's look at your rates to make sure they are as low as possible". He told me those were the new rates since I'm in a connected community. We will see when my next bill comes......
Isn't it? I was up until around 5:30 am last Saturday before the UT/OU game just soaking it in. That early start hurt.
We used to waste so much DVR space with movies we recorded...they'd sit there for months before we'd get around to watching them. Now...they're just always there without committing any DVR space at all. Such a superior product all the way around to Dish Network or cable.
Is it worth an extra $20 a month? When they were describing it to me they were really pushing the HBO and Cinemax. Too bad The Wire is cancelled, or I would have been sold.........
Well someone I know 1.3 miles away just got availability. I still don't have it - the guy actual said they have fiber optic as close as 0.7 miles away from my house and that I'm in a high demand area and hopefully it won't be long, though! I'm just so jealous of all u guys getting great service at a cheaper price.
Really I have DirectV . . and was just offered the UVerse since they have my internet and phone I'm thinking about it. I have my own personal DVR and with the UVerse it is a family SHARED DVR I am unsure if i like/want that but I am thinking about it How does their DVR work? i know 4 shows at once. . . but that is 4 total 1 on each receiver . ..versus 2 on 1 receive i have now Rocket River
I currently pay $84, before taxes, a month for U300 and high speed pro. This, this is much better. AT&T, here I come!
I had U200 and one movie package...for $1 more per month, I upgraded to U400 and now have all the movie packages.
