    It's a good thing for him, then, that despite all the efforts of the Republican party, Ohio has same day voter registration.

    In Ohio you could only do same day registration and vote (via absentee ballot) between Sept. 30 and Oct. 6. You can't register period after 10/6 and thus can't register and vote either.

    My older brother is a hardcore Republican who happens to live in Ohio. In fact, he writes for a national right wing propaganda newspaper as well. He told me he won't be voting for McCain this time, but rather Bob Barr on the Libertarian side.

    I don't understand how Obama "tapped danced" around the question he asked :confused:

    IMO he was direct and forward. Seemed as if Joe would not accept any other answer other than Obama saying "My policy is wrong and I change my mind" :rolleyes:

    I dont understand how you Americans.... after 8 years of Bush... you can even think of voting for a guy... who has the Republican party backing...

    I wonder about your Republican party sometimes... I seems like its filled with the Rich people trying to stay rich or get richer... and the poor and ignorant people who want to be rich someday...

    the only thing im glad about... is within the next 50 years... the world wont have to look to America for leadership... not like it does today... LOL

    This plumber joe thing is such a joke.

    Currently, Joe doesn't make enough to have his taxes raised one cent under obama!

    If joe decides to buy this plumbing business that he claims makes 280,000:

    (Its not clear if he was talking about revenue or profit, a plumbing business returning 280000 profit is one heck of a business )

    If Joe was talking about revenue: his taxes don't get raised one cent
    If joe was talking about profit: his taxes would get raised by about 800 dollars a year. Im pretty sure if he is bringing home 280,000 in PROFIT he can afford an extra 60 bucks a month in taxes.

    The best trick the Republicans have pulled is getting a lot of people to vote along with policies that help the rich, even though they themselves are not rich, and the policies hinder their advancement.

    It has been an effective political trick. I really don't think it is good for the economy to have spending power so concentrated at the top. I think it is one of the things that leads to speculation and bubbles.

    Especially in a rust-belt city like Toledo Ohio with low cost of living - That's like making $600k in a big city. He's probably one of the wealthiest people in town - if he is indeed making that much.

    Maybe you should read up on small buisness. In the case of non-incorporated businesses, the $250K would refer to total taxable annual receipts, since that is what flows through to the individual income tax return. Thus the gross profit is effected and not net profit. Plus the idea is to GROW the buisness. The company may be making 250k right now, but I'm sure his idea is to hopefully grow it by adding resources (trucks, tools, employee's, etc..). So for every dollar her grow's the buisness over 250k he's taxed more.
