Crow..You made out like a bandit on that deal.....Did he give up I-Rod and Biggio just to get Anderson Sure Anderson has great potential this year but he allready had sasaki and mesa..not a bad pair of closers...and in my opinion hall will have as good a year or better than loduca. You upgrade at C and 2nd base and all you give up is a closer with good potential..ren downgrades at C and loses depth at 2nd for a guy who had a few good months last year....thats just the way I see it...well anyway Anderson may turn out to be one of the best closers but thats a big risk... imo
cc -- C. Hernandez is pretty much untouchable for me right now. I expect him to be 2002 Rookie of the year. Other than that, I'm not too interested in Martinez right now, mainly because I'm scared of his injury status. If you still have him a few weeks into the season (and he stays healthy), I may be interested then. (for everyone) -- I *am* looking for a stud 3rd baseman if anyone has an extra. I have Jeff Zimmerman as possible trade bait.
Oh, OK, I thought I remembered you being interested in Pedro in the first round. Rocketman95, I don't think that was asking too much for Pedro assuming he stays healthy. As much as I like Hernandez, he isn't a sure thing and there isn't much of a margin between Bagwell and Sweeney IMO.
Oh,Now Im going to be a laughing stock for the rest of the season huh!?! I like the deal, would do it agian in a second,I believe 1 or both of the players I gave will go out with an injury at some point. Also Lo Duca is my favorite cather and I think he could possible have a BETTER year than Pudge(yep I said it).I already had boone so getting rid of Biggio didnt hurt me at all and Anderson was a better pick than I thought I was going to get.I can always trade 1 of my closers. I thought it was a very fair trade and if it wasent as fair as you all say why wasent it dismissed!?!
Major and I semi-discussed making the trade, but we sorta figured that you wouldn't waste all that time just to give it away at the beginning! Or at least that's why I didn't ultimately protest it.
Ren,trades can be very subjective and different people can see it multiple ways.. I don't think it is the other owners job to make sure trades are even. The only time a trade should be protested is if it looks like collusion....and no you won't be a laughing stock for the rest of the season..We'll probably forget all about it once the season gets underway
[rub_hands][furrow_brow][affect_turkish_accent] Everybody on my roster is avalible in trade ... for the right price. [/affect_turkish_accent][/furrow_brow][/rub_hands]
Honestly, i think Pudge will go out in the first month over the last 3 or 4 seasons he hasnt played more than 120 games, and biggio, well we all know bigg is hurt, he's been hurting for a few years, so i think ren will end up with the better side of the deal by the time all star break rolls around, BTW, Matt Williams first now R. Ankiel i may be needing some players pretty quick
The following players, BTW, are on my most tradable player list (in no particular order). 1. Javier Vasquez 2. Al Leiter 3. Kelvim Escobar (Toronto closer) 4. Paul Konerko (dominating the Arizona league) 5. Dmitiri Young (qualifies at 1st, 3rd, & OF) 6. Carl Everett 7. Estiban Yan 8. Ugueth Urbina 9. Miguel Tejada and 10. John Smoltz Feel free to make me offers on any of these guys.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I had to think about this a bit, because there didn't seem to be a whole lot that really fit what I needed. The first thing that comes to mind for Vasquez is something like: Joel Pineiro and Johnny Damon for Javier Vasquez and 1 of my 3 backup outfielders (Carl Everett, Dimitri Young, or Mark McLemore) but, of course that may be way off base. If I can think up a starting point for Johnson, I'll post it here, but as it took the better part of a day to come up with something for Vasquez, I wouldn't expect anything anytime soon.
No i didnt know that, thanks though, i was kinda pissed when i forgot the mets got Alomar, thanks for the info
