ok so i am registered to vote in houston and completly forgot to change my voting address to denton where i live now is it too late to change registration address so i can vote where i live now or its to late
I don't know the cutoff, if it's 30 days its too late but because you moved to a new county you have to reregister. It might turnout that you won't get your voter card til after the election though you may be able to vote a limited ballot which lets you vote on things that you would be able to vote on in either your current or previous county of residence; IE the President, US Senator, Railroad Commissioner, etc.
Here's the word from the Texas Secretary of State. You have to vote in Houston. http://www.texasonline.state.tx.us/NASApp/sos/SOSACManager
Well, if you were gonna vote for Obama, don't sweat it too much. Registering in Texas to vote for the Democratic presidential candidate is only gonna win you jury duty.
Good point about jury duty. I have jury duty a week before the election. Whopee. It doesn't even matter who you vote for in Texas. McCain wins either way. The only races that matter are the local ones.
Wrong. Voting for Obama adds to his national total, thus giving him a greater mandate to effect the needed changes. Voting for Obama and other Dems may get more resources into your local races next cycle, particularly if they are closer than expected this time. A large Dem turnout in TX will scare the socks off the Repubs, who will be forced to govern without letting their wingnut selves run free. Plus, you make the other folks who vote for Obama happy because they will realize there are more Obama supporters than they think. There is nothing bad about voting for Obama in Texas and much that is good.
This pisses me off. Jury duty is a civic calling and one of the responsibilities we as citizens of this country should take seriously. I have no respect for anyone that intentionally tries to get out of jury duty and to do so by not voting is beneath contempt.
Not Harris County. Jurors in Harris County are selected at random from the Harris County Voter Registration list and the Texas Department of Public Safety list of drivers or ID card holders living in Harris County. You don't have to register to vote to get called for Jury Duty.
Don't fall. That horse looks mighty high. FWIW - I have served jury duty. And yet you support a candidate that has shady associates... riiiiight.
This is a bizarre post. First, I don't support McCain. Second, what would one have to do with the other? Third, what's high horse about feeling an obligation to give back to the greater good and railing against those that don't? Some people used to call that "conservative."
