Those with 8 hour work days: How much did you actually work today?

Well, since the bailout things have been real slow around here. REAL slow.

Let's see, yesterday I confirmed an order I placed with a vendor (30 seconds) and send a couple of follow up emails to internal clients (2 minutes). That was my days work. Today is looking like I have even less to do.

I should really slow down. All this work is giving me an ulcer.

 

Cleverly disguised thread to show my boss later to show I clicked something that might incriminate me.

I am a fast typer, so I tell everyone here that it will take me a long time to program/script/automate/command some **** that would otherwise take me a few seconds. Eff it.

This post took 10 minutes to type, BTW.

 

Every day goes something like this:

8 - 9am BS Cooler talk, check emails, post on BBS
9 - 9:30 Coffee break
9:30 - 11:30 Work
11:30 - 1 Lunch
1 - 2 more BS, post-lunch discussions, check email, check BBS
2 - 4:30 Work
4:30 - 5 goodbyes, pack-up, leave

I, too, am incredibly efficient, and usually get done with my tasks in half the time, even though I tell my bosses I'll need the full amount of time to complete said task.

Hell, even my full allotted amount of time is generally quicker than everyone else in this department too... I really should stop being this good.

us through a typical day for you?

Yeah.

Great.

PETER
Well, I generally come in at least fifteen minutes late. I use the side
door, that way Lumbergh can't see me. Uh, and after that, I just sorta
space out for about an hour.

BOB PORTER
Space out?

PETER
Yeah. I just stare at my desk but it looks like I'm working. I do that
for probably another hour after lunch too. I'd probably, say, in a
given week, I probably do about fifteen minutes of real, actual work.
