I know I know I know, Matt Schuab is clearly a starting QB for this team, and he just won the first game for us yesterday. But is he really the best fit for this team offensively? From what we saw yesterday, our running game was not good at all, Slaton got 15 carries, and had only 56 something yards. So Schuab had to throw 42 times, and completed 22 of them, for 379 yeads. Personally, I still think Sage Rosenfels fits this team better... im not saying that Sage is a better QB than Matt Schuab, but when Sage is our QB, this team clearly does play better football...

Slaton had only 15 carries for 56 yards against one of the top rushing defenses in the league? And the gameplan was to throw more against a team with a great rushing defense?

Who'da thunk it? Game plan so you don't go against the opponent's strengths! Genius!

OTOH, Slaton does great against Indy's porous run D (when without Sanders) and it's because of Sage. Genius!

    it's a bbs qb controversy.

    not a real qb controversy.

we can talk about it allllll day long. schaub is going to have to suck hard for them to remove him. and coming off a win, they're not going to.

The poll needs a third choice.

The quote should have the addition of "when the starting QB is struggling..."

Too bad for him that John Elway never struggled enough to get Denver fans all giddy about what Kubiak would be capable of.

We need that Nuggets fan to come in to this thread. He would tell you Elway was booed at times and people did talk about wanting to see the backup play. Among my very closest friends is a guy from Denver who still talks about this. I'm not sure if Kubiak would have been the backup at that point...but there was all sorts of noise that Elway would never get the Broncos over the top.

I'm reminded of how many Rockets fans wanted Olajuwon traded in 1992 for Seikaly and others.

In no way am I suggesting Matt Schaub is in any way equivalent to either John Elway or Hakeem Olajuwon! :) Just remembering the stories about Elway.

Well the answer shouldn't be that difficult really.

One QB loss the game after leading 17pts with 5 minutes to go, while the other QB won the game after being down by 5pts with 2 minutes to go.

Why is this even being questioned?

The overall picture is Schaub plays his worst when his offensive line lets him down. Most of his turnover are a result of being hurried. Meanwhile, as we saw in the Colts game, Rosenfels turns it over even with great protection. Too wreckless to be the starter of the Texans. Give me the more reliable, stable Schaub.

you have to folllow with the entire game, the offense did not click at all until last drive of the game. But it was totally different when Sage was the QB, the offense was solid for the entire game.

I actually didn't think the offense "clicked" the last drive... they succeeded out of desparation, and needed multiple 4th down conversions to win.

Actually, the early interceptions marred an otherwise solid start by Schaub... as he got AJ and Daniels involved on some nice pass plays. Green/Slaton were steady on the running game against a top defense, and from the 2nd quarter on (14-3), the Texans moved the ball with pretty good regularity.

The offense's biggest problems are stupid turnovers and the inconcistent protection.

yeah, you know for all the crap people are talking about Schaub almost having more INTs.. let's not forget that Andre fumbled at the 5 (though he likely wasn't going into the endzone there, it's entirely possible that he could've taken a few Dolphins along for the ride.. and yeah, Schaub could well have thrown for one after that) And Andre had that drop on the out route around the 3 that was likely a TD.. I think that possession became a FG
