Meant to start this thread before the Boston game..... Ya gotta love preseason as a coach, because you get to try things with your lineup. Experimentation and a larger rotation leads to a perspective on how deep and talented we are, and it also gives guys a shot to make that last roster spot.

That said, this 5-man lineup was on the floor to close out the second preseason game vs the Spurs:

    Aaron Brooks 5'11"
    Luther Head 6'2"
    Von Wafer 6'5"
    Mike Harris 6'6"
    Chuck Hayes 6'6"

    That's some seriously small ball.

I would challenge any of you to find an NBA 5 man combination in the league that can come within range if the combined height of this group.

    Looks like an offensively-challenged lineup.

Talent isn't too far from what JVG had on his bench:

    JL3
    Head
    Snyder
    Hayes
    Mutombo

Sure you can find 7 footers off the streets and in the NBDL but they're there for a reason.

I'd love to have LaMarcus Aldridge to be the backup C/PF but he's not going anywhere.

it's about the end result and in our case it is the execution of adelman's offense...i couldn't imagine a bunch of 7 footers running motion offensive and maintaining the level of defense we do...

    Barry 6'7"
    Tmac 6'8"
    Battier 6'8"
    Scola 6'9"
    Yao 7"6"

True. I know the lineup at the end of the 2nd half of both the Boston game or SA game will be the one in the game at crunch time.

    Poor Battier...

the guy measured at 6'9.5 at his pre-draft camp.

But for some reason he gets 'lowballed' on height all the time

Scola is also 6'10 (209cm on the international sites - some list him at 211... but 208 is 6'10. Regardless of how they measure, it must be at least as accurate as the 'height in shoes' stat that gets used for every other player)
