I would like to get the new TV calibrated professionally but it's a bit expensive. Wanted to see if anyone had one of those DVD's where you could calibrate it yourself. I know it probably won't be as good as a professional but it would be cheaper and a good alternative until I feel like spending 300-400 to get it done by a tech.
You can try something like Digital Video Essentials or Avia. I used them... not sure if it's worth the money, but I did umm... change stuff. Professional calibration would be better, but you have to wonder if it's worth it unless you're some videophile.
or you can just go to avsforum to copy and try the settings of other users that's what i did, until i found one that i like
Go to AVS forums and read about what settings they use for your set. You should find a handful of trusted settings depending on how popular your TV is.
I had my Panasonic plasma ISF calibrated two years ago. It made a huge difference in the picture quality. The colors are very accurate now(everyone doesn't have a sunburn) and the picture is very film like. same thing here. I would probably go the avs forum route first. Make sure you adjust each input if you use multiple
