Sorry moes, but this is nonsensical. You think one of the candidates would make a better president but you don't know if you'll vote for that person?

That means you're either thinking about voting for the candidate who would be worse in your estimation or you're not going to vote at all. The first is strange, the second, especially at your age and with what's going on in the world, is tragic.

Get out and vote. I don't care if you write in Quentin Compson, just go vote.

I hope you mean as a write in. Paul isn't running for Pres.

Besides the Republicans and Democrats, there are nominees from the Libertarian Party (Bob Barr), Green Party, Constitution Party, America's Independent Party (Alan Keyes), Boston Tea Party, Reform Party, Prohibition Party, Party for Socialism and Liberation, Socialist Party USA, Socialist Workers Party, and Ralph Nader as an independent. Ron Paul isn't among them. I don't know how many of those will actually appear on the Texas ballot.

If I had to jump on a bandwagon, that'd be my gravy train.

No it's not -- it's just some chit chat in the middle of a thread that has a completely different subject.

No need to pounce on everything.

So...let me get this straight...a Christian minister asks the congregation to pray for something (in this case, their candidate to win the election)....how scandalous.

Geez...some people will pounce on anything to try to stir controversy.

I'm sure there are ministers, or pastors or priests (I know some, Catholics mind you) who are praying for an Obama victory and asking others to pray likewise.

    meh...

I would make a bold prediction that God will not interfere with US American humans in this election. They may disappoint him, but he'll let them make what they will of the world.

I actually think it's God's plan...... for him to win, just my opinion, I am no one to speak for God in the matter.

This is just dumb... it's akin to praying for your sports team to win a game.

Like.... there aren't Christians on the other side praying for their team too?

What does God do... flip a coin?

Nope. I think ALL Christians should pray for God's Will to be done.

    1) Pray for God's Will.
    2) Know the platforms of each party.
    3) Vote what you can reasonably prove is closest to Scripture.
    4) When in doubt see rule #1.

But, this is stupid for either side... to publicly pray for an election win.

I correct people at my church for even heading down that line of thought in a prayer meeting as a topic for prayer. Keep the political opinions in your personal prayer life... and out of the church discussion.

FWIW - I'm even against these "voter fact sheets" provided by para-church organizations like "Focus on the Family." I find it as forced as the efforts of ACORN with the otherwise apathetic about voting. If people are too lazy to know the party platforms and individual stances, I'm not handing to them on a "I've thought for you" sheet.

The GOP leadership should thaw out Reagan's frozen head in order to compel these churches to vote McCain.

No, it's akin to saying all the non-Christians of the world want the Miami Dolphins to win today so you better pray that the Texans win today or else that means their gods are better than ours. That's exactly what was said. Read the damn quote.

I'm sorry, but the people teaching that are LIARS and DECEIVERS.

The Book of Revelation never suggests what the age of the antichrist will be, and never says anything about him being Muslim either. Not even remotely close. It's sad, part of the Christian community in America is starting to go off the deep end here. God is not a Republican, and if I had to choose which of the two candidates was actually more of a "Christian", the answer would clearly be Obama. They claim to seek truth but in fact they choose to believe lies. Ugh.

    Read my stinkin' ENTIRE post.

I am COMPLETELY against using the "clergy" for this kind of campaign pimping in a public setting.

    It's uncalled for.

It's also uncalled for for you to not see my post as anything other than agreeing with you.

The fact this "minister" is trying to play Elijah vs. the prophets of Baal in this instance is appalling.

I get it, you don't have to teach me semantics on hidden Biblical inferences.
