I've been thinking and reading up about the game, and I've been excited for it since before I was even sure it was really going to happen. I've been wondering whether I should get it for the PC or 360. My 360 is hooked up to the 53" HDTV LCD, so it would be awesome playing on that. The PC has the advantage of easy patches, and all the mods like those that were available for Oblivion. What version is anyone else going to get? What should I do?
It isn't a choice of PC/360 for me, but I guess I can pick between the PS3 and the PC. I'd probably pick the PC. I haven't really kept up with how Bethesda will treat mods and things like that for Fallout 3, but if it is anything like their previous two games, there isn't really any doubt in my mind which version I should pick. If the console versions are the same as the PC version (no mods or whatever), I'd probably still pick the PC version although it might be a tougher decision (might lean towards the PS3 if it performs substantially better on the platform compared to my PC, but I really doubt that will be the case). I guess if the Fallout 3 PS3 rumors are true, you won't really have to worry about your decision, although the chances of them being true at this point are probably 5% at best. Were you referring to some of the recent previews for the game? I've been trying to avoid info about the game (kind of want to be blown away by the game a few months before its release), but there was some talk about it on the last 1UP Yours podcast that made it sound really interesting.
You know you can hook your computer up to your LCD too right? I play supreme commander on my 37" LCD TV all the time.
I hope they develop the game with the latest PC graphics hardware, and then dumb it down for the consoles.. as opposed to developing it for the consoles first.
Depends on how good your PC is. also you should probably read the reviews first to see what they think.
I will try not to put any game info from the game that I've read. I just saw someone mention that they were going to get it for the PC instead of their console. I have seen that the initial release will be for all of them. As for the mods, I was just basing it off of Oblivion, because I haven't read anything definitive about the mods being included or not included. I will say the previews I've read have upped my anticipation for the game. I realize that I could actually hook my computer up to the LCD TV, but that would require moving my computer to the middle of my living room, and I don't think I would want to do that. My computer is pretty decent with dual 6600 processor and dual nvidia 7950 GT plus 2 gig of ram. It isn't the top of the line or anything, but it works nicely and can run any game out there, although not run it to pure perfection. The size of the screen is the main reason I was thinking of the 360. Just to be in a dark room playing fallout 3 on a 53" screen connected with the HDMI would be sweet. I wish there was a way I could justify buying two copies. One for each platform.
Yeah, maybe a good idea not to post too much info from the game. Bethesda doesn't seem to be treating it as spoiler material, but it could probably ruin the moment for some people that don't want to know that much about the game. I probably would have preferred not knowing what I now know until later, although I'm definitely more interested in the game. In my case, pretty much everything would be MUCH better on the PC (controls, gameplay, stability, and graphics, especially if mods were like Oblivion). Guess I could get some Fallout 3 shirts for my Home avatar if I got the PS3 version though...how could I resist that?
Eh, I guess it's up to you, I've being slowly making my PC media center for my living room (really easy now with Vista) but I guess it's up to different people what they want. It was easier for me since I was gonna get a new monitor for my PC (the old doesn't support resolutions up to 1060 x 720) anyways, after looking at some of the prices, decided to shell out couple of hundred more for a HD - TV instead.

Gohere now! -You have the all the old Fallout style stats in S.P.E.C.I.A.L. -You have V.A.T.S. - targeting system in cinematic slo-mo. -All the old 1950s style Red Scare, apocolyptical black humor that Fallout is famous for. The only reason people throw in the Oblivion stuff is b/c they're scared Bethesda will **** up what Black Isle did 10 years ago. It only looks like Oblivion in the 1st person view. I'll be getting this for the 360: easy patches and downloadable content. I'd have to get a new power supply and video card to play it on the PC. Oh btw, if you have both a PS3 and a 360, get the latter. No downloadable content on the PS3.
Does anybody actually have the specs for the game? I"m currently getting it for the PS3 as I don't know how much horsepower it's gonna need for the PC. But if I can get close to decent performance for it with the PC, I'm a PC gamer at heart and will play that instead any day of the week.

completely off the subject, But i wish all PC games were compatible with a controller and not a keyboard =( The variety of war games for PC is beyond one's wildest dream, but I hate using the keyboard.
Thanks, I think I'm right between the recommended and mimum system requirement. Pentium Duo CORE 2160 (the budget Duo CORE), 3 GB of RAM, NVida 8600 GT. It runs most stuff ok, but I wish they'd release a playable demo so I can know for sure.
It's one day away from the game being released. I pre-ordered mine from Best Buy which is opening at midnight tonight to handle the rush of Fallout 3. I've been extremely eager to play this game, and cleared my schedule for tomorrow night. But as much as I'm looking forward to it, I won't be getting it at midnight. I've got a friend picking mine up tomorrow while I'm at work. I've read about people taking days off to play a new game, and picking games up at midnight, but I've never done it, or known anyone who's actually done this. Has anyone here done it, or planning to do it?
I would take off if I could, but I just started a new job 3 weeks ago. It wouldn't look good. I'm getting it on the 360 from Amazon w/ release date delivery, so I'll be up all night tomorrow!
I wish I could take off. Stocking up on food, and locking myself in for a day of Fallout 3 on Weds. sounds like a blast. I just can't take time away from work though. Technically I could, but I'm not going to.
