Morey said they went over budget with Landry so they might have to go with 13 in order to keep under the tax. This is crazy to me considering the possibility of injury and we would be letting 3 very good players go instead of only 1. Is this really gonna happen?
Actually, it was 12 + 3 guys with fake injuries. But I agree with the point. As much as we like guys like Mike Harris, in the end they're not going to make or break the season. Come playoff time, if our 14th or 15th guy is playing anything but garbage minutes, we're already screwed.
we should sign deke and go with the team, let strawberry, harris go. trade head for some future picks although i'm not too comfortable doing that. not sure if barry has a lot left in the tank or if his body can hold up the whole season. honestly, i don't see head going anywhere. but strawberry and harris are pretty much gone imho, although i do like harris and von wafer.
to sign uncle Deke is a must.it seems those like harris,strawberry,wafer should be out.keeping 14 players.
you guys keep forgetting that deke isnt going to be signed for the vet minimum which will mean were gonna pay 2mil plus for one year for him?
IMHO,our starting 5 except for Rafer is deep assuming Artest starts. That leaves Landry,and Battier is our most reliable bench players. Barry can't be relied upon for an entire season.Head will need to be retained despite his well known problems. Chuck is important despite his limitations but Brooks,Francis,are struggling mightily. Harris is nice but he is caught up in the numbers game and the absence of Deke makes our interior defense quite weak. Dorsey can't do that job IMO.

The only tall athletic 2 we have out side of Tmac and Artest is NOBODY! Thats why I hope we really give wafer a serious look. If Tmac or Artest get hurt or suspended or what ever, we become thin on tall athletic wings. Barry is a tall wing but he is not as athletic as he once was. I would rather cut strawberry and send mike to china till the second half of the season and keep wafer.
not a hard decision. buy out steve and cut strawberry. 1. yao 2. scola 3. ron 4. tmac 5. rafer 6. shane 7. landry 8. barry 9. brooks 10. luther 11. hayes 12. dorsey 13. harris maybe sign deke half way through the season.
Even if we bought out Francis, wouldn't his salary still count against our cap figure? If so, we might as well give him a chance since this is the last year of his contract.
in case of the potential injuries in yaotmacronrafer..... we'd better hold 15 players but we can change some of them to get our team salary a little bit lower. head and strewberry are to be cut off, I bet sf3 will not be cut even just for the sake of fans. To make up 15-roster list, we may sign drexler and jon barry with LLE. Don't expect those two veterans to do something on court, at most they'll just take some exercise during the gabage time. Then we will have big four in Yao;tmac;artest;Drexler. and barry brothers.
