Because it shows some of the nutjobs that think Barack is more than a politician.


Don't get it twisted. No one on the Republican far right thinks McCain is the "Messiah."

 

obviously... no one in the right in his right mind would make such a ridiculous claim about McCain! however, John Hagee's claim that Bush is the Messiah (March 2003) makes a lot more sense!

wait, who did John Hagee endorse again? and where does he stand in the political spectrum? care to refresh our memories?

 

I don't agree with Hagee's comments to a tee on that video ( I do agree we are Israel's biggest alli), but the only thing that says "messiah" on it is the title that whoever uploaded it put up there. Hagee made no such mention of "messiah" and "George Bush" he merely said he believed that "God has raised George Bush up" for "this time" to take out Saddam... because Saddam had envisioned himself as the second incarnation of King Nebuchadnezzar -an enemy of Israel in Biblical antiquity- (which was in fact reported in 1996 - and a plaque was found in Iraq with an inscription that declared it had been built by "the son of Nebuchadnezzar." Saddam also had commissioned the rebuilding of the Tower of Babel in an effort to solidify his "rebirth.").

No one ever called George Bush the Messiah. You won't find it.


No Christian will deliberately call anyone "the Messiah" outside of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Not by any stretch.

Only false religious leaders do that.


Ol' Louis is clearly saying that "Barack" has involved the "youth" by his words... and that "when the Messiah speaks the youth will hear... the Messiah is absolutely speaking."

 

Farrakhan is on the far right. He is against all types of welfare, affirmative action etc.

My question is why does what Farrakhan say matter? Obama isn't a friend of his. Obama doesn't support him in any way, and has been clear about it. There are more black Catholics in the nation than there are black Muslims, so why is this important?

 

What makes them "false religious leaders" any more than the early leaders of the various Jesus cults?

 

Jesus said Himself that many would come in "his name" claiming they were the anointed ones... and He said that they were not of Him... that they were false.

I finally got around to looking at this clip and Hagee says no such thing. He says "God raised up" George Bush to defeat Saddam Hussein. This would be analgous to God raising up David to slay Goliath.

Being "raised up" has nothing to do with being the Messiah. In fact, Hagee already has his Messiah...

You are playing loose with someone's faith here.

 

So you don't know. Your messiah could be as fake as the next one.

 

My Messiah IS Jesus... the one who warned of the false ones.

Nope. It IS however because no one in America has EVER called their politician "the Messiah" or claimed he is "absolutely speaking."


It's definitely unsettling for someone to make a claim, much as the Mahdi talk with Iran's "president" (only in this reference is Christian terminology).


When Ahmadinejad did it (of himself), the Islamic world cried "kooky" in large part... now the Christian world in America is doing a similar thing when they hear this kind of rhetoric.

When people heard that Tom Cruise was supposedly the "messiah of Scientology" people cried foul too.


It's just a reaction. That's all. It is unsettling that ANY politician would be mentioned in this light.
