I can almost guarantee you that the sketches will not be funny.

Remember when Paris Hilton went on SNL and refused to do a LOT of the material they came up with because she thought it made her look bad?

I expect the same thing from Palin.

We might get surprised and this honestly might help her somewhat but we'll just have to wait and see.

She will have to swallow some bitter pills.

I can imagine her handlers will be the ones green-lighting the sketches.

I'm expecting a Halloween skit where Palin is dressed Tina Fey and Fey is acting like Palin.

Well, she is a clown so she's getting closer to her true calling.

    Here's what will happen:

    1. Palin goes on SNL.
    2. Right-wingers claim she was hilarious.
    3. Left-wingers claim she was absolutely not hilarious and that this just goes to show what a joke of a human being she is.
    4. Right-wingers respond by saying that Hillary and Barack were not funny on SNL.
    5. Left-wingers reply, "Yes, huh, they were."
    6. Trader_Jorge comes on and proclaims the election sealed for McCain on account of Palin's superior talents and wit. If that isn't enough, he will have an inside tip on explosive breaking news to be breaking within the hour. RO HO HO.

Did I just about get it?

Palin should wait to do this after they lose the election. I'm sure it will be a lot more funny as well as help her post-political career.

I think that just about sums it up.

In all seriousness, I can remember after Bob Dole's failed presidential campaign, he did SNL. All I heard for about a week after that was "oh...he does have a personality...who knew?"

If Palin does well on SNL, and comes across as being likeable, it cannot hurt the ticket. It may or may not help, but it wouldn't hurt.

If she goes on there and looks robotic...disaster.

What is weird is that she won't give an interview discussing the topics of concern, but she'll do SNL?!?

Almost nailed it. I changed the part I think would be more accurate, and in line with generating a perpetuating and futile war of words.

The disaster already came and went. The only question now is by how many EV's does Obama win. This appearance is rehab. She's thinking about the future.
