Misleading title. McGrady doesn't think he needs preseason games to strengthen his injured knee. (Practices would do.)
tmac is practicing so apparently he's still adjusting to the knee. i think he hinted he'll play in the last preseason game at least just to get some playing time in. but preseason is useless. it's more for seeing guys who'll make the cut rather than get off the rust.
If T-mac goes out for another 20 games, Mr. Numbers(Morey) needs to look at his injury stats and fire the medical staff already.
as long as he plays in the playoffs, that's all we care about. yao missing the playoffs was huge last yr.
We are going to need all of our starters healthy throughout to season to learn the system with Ron and develop chemistry
exactly...t-mac has a high b-ball iq and can pick up stuff in a flash. i'd be worried about other players figuring out how to adjust and play off him. he is running in practice but hopefully he gets in a game or two in preseason. are opening schedule is the hardest part of the year.
i like tmac as much as you do but don't make it sound like he can go out the whole season and just show up. The flow of the offense is so rough when he isn't playing.
He wasn't implying that T-Mac could go out the whole season and only play in the playoffs. He was implying that he shouldn't rush back when it's only the preseason, it might cause unnecessary setbacks during the regular season which could then derail our chances in the playoffs.
but yao is 100% healthy, Tracy is not yet, so whatz the point of risking getting injured for a preseason game, and he's already know about every thing of the system, the offence and defence. relax, if you have read the whole interview, he is concerned with his knee, itz not like he does not want play just because itz a preseason game.
Tracy, I beg you, Shut the **** up and play! if you don't want to play, talk to the coach and be cool.
very possible. even moreso in the internet age, titles are selected for the ability to enrage, titillate or appease. indifference is the least desired reaction. despite the headline, the piece itself is pretty mundane. 'McGrady Cautious' just wouldn't attract the same attention, even if its more descriptive ...
