highlight of the debate was mccains weak hair transplant insurance joke I think it was a combination of the audience being told not to applaud or laugh, and the joke not being very funny at all, but his joke being met with complete silence was pretty bad
That's not a hair transplant. It's called a thin combover. Biden has the transplant. Give the old guy a break.
I said projected electoral map. Your reading comprehension needs work. Check out realclearpolitics.com or fivethirtyeight.com. Most polls agree that Obama already has 264 electoral votes virtually locked up. He only need to win 6 more from Nevada, Colorado, Florida, Ohio, Virginia, N. Carolina, Missouri, Indiana and Ohio. McCain needs to win every single one of those states to win. Also, it figures you would cherry pick the national poll with the smallest separation between the two candidates.
Uncommitted give the debate to Obama, again. From CBS http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2008/10/07/politics/horserace/entry4508356.shtml CBS News and Knowledge Networks have, once again, conducted a nationally representative poll of uncommitted voters to get their immediate reaction to tonight's presidential debate. And this new poll has good news for the Democratic ticket: Just as in the first presidential debate and the vice presidential face off, more uncommitted voters say the Democratic candidate won the debate. (The exact numbers may change as more respondents complete the survey.) 39 percent of the uncommitted voters surveyed identified Barack Obama as tonight's winner; 27 percent said John McCain won, while 35 percent saw the debate as a draw. After the debate, 68 percent of uncommitted voters said that they think Obama will make the right decisions on the economy, compared to 54 percent who said that before the debate. Fewer thought McCain would do so – 49 percent after the debate, and 41 percent before. Before the debate, 60 percent thought Obama understands voters’ needs and problems; that rose to 80 percent after the debate. For McCain, 35 percent felt he understands voters’ needs before the debate, and 46 percent thought so afterwards. Before the debate, 42 percent thought Obama was prepared for the job of president. That percentage rose to 57 percent after the debate. For McCain, 80 percent felt he was prepared for the job before the debate, and 84 percent thought so afterwards. We will have a full report on the poll later on. Uncommitted voters are those who don't yet know who they will vote for, or who have chosen a candidate but may still change their minds.
Dude, we live in Houston and can't see the stars at night. Do you think they can see the stars in Chicago?
I think you just don't get it......part of being a President is looking Presidential, making the American people feel they have an intelligent President who knows what he is doing. Debating is about presentation, and Obama killed McCain on that...just watch McCain twitch around in the background while Obama is speaking, meanwhile....Obama sits calmly while his opponent goes on about his policies. So, while I think they both did OK.....and Obama won by a nose on issues.....even though I personally agree more with him..... I think in Presentation, Obama killed him. And it is.... "'Speak softly and carry and big stick" DD
Mccain acting all upset at a 3 million dollar museum projector when he just rushed a 700 BILLION DOLLAR BAILOUT package through congress is a joke.
CNN's poll is showing a majority of people think Obama won. As with the first debate, neither candidate impressed me but as another poster said I don't think these debates are for people like me who have made up their minds but for those undecided few.
CNN/Opinion Research Flash Poll 54-30 Obama Favorable/unfavorable Ratings For Obama: 64/34 (60/38 before debate) Favorable/unfavorable Ratings For McCain: 51/46 (51/46 before debate) There's more pertaining to certain issues. McCain actually won 51-46 on Iraq. Obama won something else by about the same margin but I can't remember what it is.
It seemed like McCain was getting a little frustrated and extremely angry at Obama...maybe one of the reasons why he left early and Obama stayed back to talk to the people in the audience. I'm watching CNN right now and they're making a big deal on McCain referring to Obama as "that one," I didn't think too much of it when he said it but maybe those words shouldn't have come out of his mouth.
