Saying that EliteXC wanted Slice to lose is like saying that boxing wanted Tyson to lose against Douglas. Are you f'ing kidding me? The heavyweight division in boxing has never recovered and I think EliteXC could suffer an even worse fate.

Slice was a fun story, an oddly compelling antihero who had the perfect mix of name/look/notoriety/mystery to make him a draw. But now it's clear he has a glass jaw(dropped by a jab going backwards FFS) and he's too old to learn any substantial technique. It was interesting while it lasted.

Saying it was fixed is kind of comical. Especially when EliteXC have been riding the "Internet phenom's" jock every Kimbo fight. In fact I even heard some excuses from the announcers like " He didnt train for this fighter and other excuses. He got caught and that was it. He did show that he hasa glass jaw though. I bet plenty of MMA fighters are laughing thier butts off. Everyone gets caught sometimes. Bye Bye Kimbo.........practice on your defense and ground game.

He said he was never gonna give you up.....never gonna let you down....never gonna run around and desert you.

    Never gonna make you cry.

    Never gonna say goodbye.

Never tell a lie, and hurt you.

I thought it was a rather eloquent speech in light of his defeat.

To be fair to Kimbo, he trained and prepared to fight Ken Shamrock. The other guy, who knows how much Kimbo and his crew knew about the guy. And yes, it does matter. That is like studying for a certain test and then test day comes, the teacher gives you a completely different test to take because he forgot the original at home.

With that said, he knew what to expect from Shamrock. From Pinky, not so much and it shows. Still though, he got rocked by a freaking JAB. I'm pretty sure I've seen Kimbo hit with harder shots than that. Anyways, if Kimbo actually did get to train and prepare for Pink guy, I feel the outcome would be different. But damn Kimbo, that was the worst way you could lose. His ego took the hardest hit of the night.

he knew what to expect from shamrock...a washed up old fighter.

also to be fair petruzelli cut 30 lbs to fight the guy he was training to fight. if anything petruzelli was at a much bigger disadvantage if we are talking about preparation.

If Kimbo had that mindset going to fight Shamrock, Ken would have beat him. Yes hes old, but he has experience. Kimbo never fought anyone with as much experience in the ring as Ken. Shamrock has been doing MMA before everyone thought it was cool. Kimbo took this fight very serious regardless of what fans and media thought.

Of course Pinkuzelli was at a disadvantage. He was facing a guy that was bigger and had a longer reach. Fact is, he caught Kimbo with a lucky punch. You can't sit there and tell me he knew what he was doing in there. That is what makes this so great. Kimbo had him backing up, dude was just flailing his arms out there and landed a good one. Reminded me of the nerd knocking out the school bully. Red knocking out Deebo. "Thats my bike punk!"

Studying to see if your opponent is a standup guy or a ground guy...yes I understand that. But come on........the basics say cover your face at all times even after you take a monster swing at someone. He got caught and that was all. The only test you have is your conditioning and endurance. Mentally you should be ready for anyone. Just my opinion.

petruzelli hasnt fought in how long? cant remember last time i saw him fight i am sure elite XC asked him thinking kimbo would be able to handle him.

no way this was fixed for kimbo to take the fall if anything it was fixed for petruzelli to take the fall.

Saw it on youtube last night...man, wtf is that...I do agree with the logic that if he trained for a specific guy, he'd be off a little, but still...

He got his azz handed to him, end of story...
