    That's kind of the thing... I walked on his side of the street once and he throws a tantrum. I tell him I won't do it again. 7 or 8 months later I walk down the middle of the street, the dog doesn't step foot onto his lawn, and he gets pissed. I didn't realize he was going to blow a fuse by having somebody walk a few feet from his yard. Of course while we're arguing, a couple people walking their dogs go by.

    And of course that isn't a picture of him...sheesh it's the closest thing I could find on Google :D

    I've dealt w/ plenty of people like this. Let's just say you probably have a lot more to lose than this dude. He doesn't care if he gets in a fight and goes to jail. He's probably used to it. He wants the both of you to get that low.

    It's better to avoid it, believe me, I've been sucked into a close call scenario where we both would've been arrested. Thank goodness I knew the cop on duty.

    I agree the tape recorder is a dumb idea. It would be a matter of provoking him just to get him recorded. The neighbor is ignoring other people walking their dogs by him but wants to start a fight with the guy walking in the middle of the street?

    It's not about the dog, this guy just wants to start a fight with him and sees a young guy walking alone that he can beat up. It won't be his first drunken fight, and it won't be his last. He'll be even more pissed when he gets out.

    I hate people like this who will go out of their way to try and start something.

    Its happened to everyone I think.

    Just last night I was thinking about a time I saw a mate of mine from highschool. I saw him a few years later and said hello and he was like "What did you say to me?" I said "Um...hello...." and he started getting all pissed off.....I shook my head and said nothing and by that point I think he realised he just looked stupid and settled down.


    Anyway, to the original poster, just walk your dog a different way, its not worth the hassle.
