Andre has been with this team for so long and in more than one year, has been its best player.

If he asks to go to a contender as he enters the prime of his career, do you honor that request?

I love the Texans and I want them to make the playoffs more than anything but I feel for Andre and would support letting him move on to a legitimate organization.

    How do you feel?

No....it does not take much to turn a team around.....just a little bit...the Texans are close....very close.....keep him in Houston.

Only if it makes our team better. But to honor his request just because you feel sorry for him? Nope.

Weren't we close at the end of last year? We were 8-8. You can't get any closer to being closer.

If we can't build from an 8-8 season, who is to say we can build from a 4-12. Ugh, this is so depressing.

Texans are close? I don't see it. They really need a QB. Hasn't been a good one in Houston since Moon in '93. And they need someone besideds Williams and Ryans on defense to make plays.

Yes, make Kevin Walter and Andre Davis are primary receivers.

Feel sorry for him? They should feel sorry for the fans! We don't even get paid to be this invested in this team of mediocrity.

Can we ask to be traded to a fan-base of a contending team? No. I won't ever feel sorry for a good player on a bad team... because he's still getting paid a boat-load, and if he was truly a warrior, he'd relish the challenge to help a bad team eventually get to succeed, rather than simply ride another team's coattails for fleeting success.

Besides... there a plenty of much better players (hell, HOF players) who suffered most of their careers on bad/non-super bowl teams. Andre Johnson is a solid pro-bowl calibur player... but its not like he's Dominique Wilkins on the Hawks, or Steve Largent on the Seahawks.

i voted yes, but if and only if we get some proven talent back or several 1st/2nd round picks. a hershel walker type deal would be nice.

Generally agree with the sentiment, but team of mediocrity is really stretching it. We've had one 8-8 year in seven years, and that only came because the Jags had nothing to play for and rested their regulars in the finale. I'd kill to be mediocre. This is just bad, inept, god-awful, atrocious, you name it. It's impossible to watch.

If its like 2-14 again than yes.

But looking at Cleveland, this apparently happens in part to the expansion rules whereby you cannot make ANY mistakes in your initial draft/free agent signing period, or you can expect to have to rebuild again within 3 years (which both teams have).

Cleveland had Tim Couch, we had David Carr. Cleveland did make the playoffs one year and rode the hot-hand career-backup Kelly Holcombe. Now, they're back to being irrelevant and worse than mediocre. I woulnd't "kill" for that.

We also made the mistake of wasting the first expansion pick on Boseli. If we don't make that mistake, maybe we focus other resources to the o-line earlier on that helps solve that problem by now... rather than still struggling to fill holes/coach em up (and only now, in year 7, finally using a first round pick on).

I can tell you this much dre is pretty frustrated because the texans have been losing so much since joined the team. But you dont trade your star player unless you can get equal value or improve your team.

After the play where AJ got crushed, his helmet popped off, and he came up with a shiner on his forehead, I'm surprised he didn't punch Rosenfels in the face Buddy Ryan style.

no, because they would make a terrible trade. They would probably trade him for an over the hill, worn down d lineman

Of course they would, but so what? If they're not making a r****ded trade, they're blowing a draft pick, hiring a clueless coach, or cutting a bum with a guaranteed contract. The Texans will continually blast themselves in the face with a shotgun until God finally has the decency to end the world.

I couldn't blame the guy if he asked for one. He has to be getting sick of the same ole, same ole as we all are.

No way we would get equal value back and I'm sure we would blow any draft picks we would pick up in a trade.

I say keep him. We need a QB.

I doubt he'll do it, he's kind of like our Kevein Garnett in this sense. It just sucks to have one of the best and underrated recievers in the game and a nothing to help him out with. He deserves better.
