Ayers launched Obama's career in politics through his influence and favors. He even hosted a fundraiser for him at his house. He was an influential part of Obama being put on the Annenberg Board.

Anyways, it seems like McCain/Palin camp is just grasping at straws right now.

 

I think people forget the context of what terrorism was back in the 1960's. Keep in mind the weatherman always sought to bomb those places without people. They had no interest in killing anyone.

That doesn't make what that group did right. Not at all. But planning to bomb the Pentagon in 1960 is not the same as doing that in 2008. Different ballgame.

Futhermore, Obama was 8 years old. And to say Ayers is a terrorist today??? Ridiculous. He'd be arrested in an instant. He's a free man. And he's being judged in a post-9/11 spotlight. Prior to 2001, no one would consider him a terrorist....if anything, he was merely a radical vietnam protester.

But now, with new definitions and means attached - he's a terrorist?

And Obama assoicates with Terrorists?

Than why is Ayers a free man?

The 8 years old line is just bad political spin. The fact of the matter is that when Obama was in his 30's, Ayers launched his political campaign for him. There is a direct relationship when Obama was an adult. Furthermore, Ayers IS an unrepentant terrorist and the reason he's not in jail is because he got off on technicalities (prosecutorial misconduct). The guy was a fugitive for many years and was in hiding. ... and constructing nail bombs is not exactly representative of your characterization of him 'avoiding people' with his bombs. Hello, the Pentagon has all kinds of people working in and around it. So does the NYC Police headquarters and the Capitol -- both targets of his.

 

The two aren't friends, though. They met when they worked together on a non-profit project to raise funds for improving schools.

Ayers, himself, is now a college professor.

Hardly a terrorist.
