You confound me, Albert, the same way you did with the Theory of Relativity. Well, at least that made sense. And please cut the "contemporary magic" cr@p? Pretty please?
Currently in camp with the Thunder. Was a projected 1st Round draft pick in 2007. Slipped to the 2nd round and then went to play in Europe for a year, before coming back to play with the Hornets in Summer League.
How did he slip to the 2nd round this kid has skills. Nice Comparison: Brandon Roy/Shane Battier. Von Wafer has a TON of talent. If he gets the chance to play, people are going to really enjoy watching him. He just turned 23, is a freak athlete (finished 2nd to none other than Lebron James in the McDonalds all-american slam dunk contest), and would have been a sure fire first round draft pick if he would have stayed 4 years at Florida State. The downside? He's not very bright. He was suspended a few times for skipping class and mandatory study sessions at Florida State. He has an ego. He has an attitude. He elbowed a dude in the nose during his pre-draft workout with the Phoenix Suns and walked off the court immediately after without saying goodbye or anything. He is the classic example of a very good athlete that believes he is better than he actually is... Bottom line? I'm not sure he has the intangibles to make it in the NBA, but he damn sure has the ability...
derrick byars couldn't find an nba team so he went to the german bbl to be one of the main guys on his team. after his return from an injury he never actually was good enough to live up to the expectations (3.5 ppg). he was then released after a few games by his bbl team. so, yeah, that tells you he's probably better than shane battier or maybe even on brandon roy's level.
