I just said "Go Texas" complete with Hook-em Horns sign to some UT fans. This from a Rice grad who hates UT and smiles at the Tuck Fexas shirts. I live literally 2 blocks from the CU stadium and the place is swarming. I wonder if I can buy a burnt orange jacket for my dog.
Hell, I'm an OU nursing student and can't bring myself to root against Texas. Granted, I'm at a satellite campus and not in Norman, so I guess it makes it easier being that I'm removed from that atmosphere, but still.... Hook 'em.
Nothing is wrong with pride in your state when you're not there. When I see an Aggie out of state, I almost always give them the "gig 'em". Now, something is wrong with you posting when there's a game four hours away and you're that close to the stadium. In Boulder. Have fun, man. Major and I went up there for the UT game in 2000 and had a complete blast. Great town.
The University of Texas represents everything that is right with the world. In other news -- I'm excited about the tremendous return to the NFL themed boat party in Devil's cove (Lake Travis) tonight.
I can't ever root for Aggies, but I can sorta root for most of the other Big XII teams against other conference teams. And I can definitely get behind Rice and UH.
oh God! So you're saying I might give an impulsive "gig 'em" to aggies some day. this is bad. I need some intervention or something. I mean, what happens if the Nuggets play the Mavs or Spurs in the playoffs and I start high fiving with guys wearing Nitwitz and Ginobody jerseys. I think I'm going to throw up. Obviously, something is wrong with me to impulsive through a Hook "em at eldery burnt orange wearing couples ... who didn't even have a beer to give me.
Pro teams are different, IMO. Of course, I'm living with a diehard Spurs fan and she's awesome, so I don't know what to think anymore. On second thought, maybe you should go buy a Buffs shirt real quick-like.
For the record there is nothing wrong with giving the Hook em sign to fellow Texans when you are in Colorado.....I would bet most of the UT fans would root for Rice if they were playing Colorado too. DD
honestly, when i threw the Hook 'em, I was saying to myself...what would RM95 do? obviously, if is was you and Major walking down the path, instead of the two elderly couples, you would have given me a beer, right?
I'd recommend you stay away from these guys.... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,432683,00.html BOULDER, Colo. — Someone tossed a firebomb into a fraternity house about a block from the University of Colorado, setting off a brawl in a nearby alley that sent one man to the hospital, police said. The firebomb early Friday caused no injuries or significant damage, and residents had put the blaze out by the time firefighters arrived, police spokeswoman Sarah Huntley said. Huntley said it was probably not a hate crime, but more likely stemmed from a feud between the fraternity and residents of a nearby apartment or with another fraternity. No arrests had been made, and police had no individual suspects. A jug of charcoal starter fluid with a burning firecracker attached was thrown into the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house through an open door about 2:15 a.m., Huntley said. Someone inside pushed it back out with a wet mop.
