This seems to be a common trend. Is everyone really getting this much better, or are the writers just looking for a story? I hope it's all true.
I'm very disappointed reading this article because now I know Landry isn't actually "right where he left off" impressing in camp as the other article implied.
Sounds like hes the Rafer of this year. Job looked to be in limbo, team brings in new players, Head steps it up in camp. I'm all for giving the guy another chance but I wouldn't lose sleep if he didn't play or got traded.
Actually I bet its true. I'm sure Head is playing well. But that's always been the case in training camp and the regular season. (except maybe when it comes to dribbling) The problem is when the pressure comes Head disappears.
So many people here were so excited about getting Head, now that we have gotten Head, people want more. What more can you want? All joking aside, I think this is the "**** or get off the pot" season for Luther. Really, can we hold on to him with what he's giving us as of late? Personally, I'd ship out Head and Brooks for the right price right about now...
I think we'll need him in the grueling regular season. I know the mantra of this board is "the regular season doesn't matter," but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. If he can shoot like he did in '07, it'll help to ensure that Tmac doesn't burn himself out. I like the thought of Barry and Luther at the 1 and 2, respectively. That's a dangerous perimeter team, and with Barry handling the ball, I think it'll work.
I'm glad he's doing well. Seriously, what other team has fans who are disappointed when a player does well.
i don't know why everyone hates head, he's not a bad player, he just has to come into his own, and it looks like thats what hes doin
this is the second straight season in which morey has set up some nice training camp battles. with all of those players knowing there will be a fight for minutes, they all come to camp trying to prove themselves. great way to improve our returning players. by the way, this sounds a lot like the reserve backcourt may not be brooks/barry as most were thinking, but rather head/barry. since barry can play point and let luther move to the 2, and defensively luther takes the 1 and doesn't get beaten up in the post by taller guards.
Well i guess when your job is in jeopardy, you're motivated to play well. Rafer was in the same position last year and that's why he played well. But then you have to wonder....why does it has to be your job being jeopardized to play well?? Why can't they do it without that motivation?? That's what separate the good players and the so-so players, they're motivated to play well no matter what.
Why is anyone distressed over Luther Head doing well? If he stays around, his improved performance means you have a better player available, probably for situational minutes. If his improvement isn't enought to have him beat other guys for minutes, so be it, coach won't play him in that case. If he gets traded, his improved performance means you get somewhat better value from a trade. Where is the negative again?
