Wizards gonna give it all they've got to try to make the playoffs. Yesterday they were saying they don't expect MJ back still Sunday, but here he is in the game just three weeks after having knee surgery. Go Wizards!!!
I'm sorry, but Washington is the biggest mirage in NBA history. They aren't even close to being a playoff team without MJ. Enjoy the ride while it lasts, Washington, because once Jordan goes back to the front office after next season, you'll be back to NBA laughingstocks...
Really, MJ's the reason they're making the playoffs??? Wow, thanks for clearing that up. I heard someone on the radio say that too like he's was the one who came up with that notion. But actually, I think the Wizards have a pretty good stock of young players for the future. Of course they're not going to be good right away. They're too young. But I think the 32 point ass-whoopin they put on the Denver Nuggets yesterday (pretty much without MJ) proves they are far from being the "laughing stock" of the NBA. Plus, they went 4-8 with Michael out, and four of the losses went down to the wire against playoff teams. They just didn't have anybody who could step up and make the big shot in the fourth quarter. I think Jordan did a great job cleansing the team of high-priced, useless veterans like Richmond, Howard, and Strickland. Now the Wizards are going to have good cap-space next year, and an unbelievable amount of cap-space in two seasons. I definitely see them improving. Of course, it helps that they're in the eastern conference. Jahidi and Haywood will form a pretty solid rotation at the center position. They won't score much, but they'll do just about everything else. Kwame will be eventually be as good as all the rest of the high-school players. I'm thinking Jermaine O'neal, but faster with more offensive versatility. Courtney Alexander - future 20ppg scorer. If you've watched him play recently you would agree. One of the highest leapers in the NBA. He hangs in the air so long on his jumpshot, its pretty easy for him to create his own shot. Richard Hamilton - 20 ppg scorer. One of the top mid-range jump shooters in the league. And this is the one that noone's going to agree with, but I think that Tyronne Lue is going to be quite an NBA player. He's as good of a defensive point guard as there is in the league. He's got a great jumpshot, handles the ball well, and he's so quick he can penetrate with relative ease. Having said that, I'm still hoping the Wizards seek a strong play-making point guard, whether it be through free agency or through the draft. I wouldn't rule out a Kwame Brown/Jason Williams trade. But I'm keeping my eye on T.J. Ford and Andre Miller.
