I have decided this year I will vote against all incumbents regardless of party affiliation, experience or merit. This whole Congress deserves to be laid off and be rebuilt from the scratch. I am not naive enough to believe that the new freshmen will somehow magically save us but at this point its about sending a strong message to these guys: that we as a people and a nation, cannot and will not tolerate this kind of corruption and despicable self-serving behavior from our elected officials. I suggest you do the same and perhaps we can send them a large enough clear cut message the only way these people understand through our vote. Bye Bye Kay Bailey Hutchison John Cornyn Michael McCaul
I wholeheartedly endorse this strategy and regularly employ it. I actually really like it for local elections I don't know **** about. Because local elected officials get to operate without much public oversight, they get comfortable or lazy or corrupt. So, I vote to get all incumbents out. I think this can also be applied to senators, though they get a little more public scrutiny. I do think incumbents in Congress are in for a lot of hurt with this bailout. Whether they vote for or against, they pissed a lot of people off and a new challenger can always leverage it to their favor. And, the coming depression won't help either.
So you have no problem voting for someone who is diametrically opposed to your own core political beliefs? I hope that works for you. At least in the case of the folks you listed, I am in total agreement with your strategy in the upcoming election.
Either boot the incumbent or vote third party.... It's painfully obvious that the current partisan posse has completely mucked things up beyond all comprehension.
I agree...except that Hutchinson isn't up for election this year. I especially agree, though on McCall and Cornyn. Larry Joe Daugherty and Rick Noriega will be fantastic replacements.
